  1. Hello. Thanks for the group add. I'm a Gen X'er that has finally decided to bring my Boomer father's Carver stereo system back to life.

  3. Thom Rotella, Right Time Left was released on September 26, 2025. "Rotella offers a collection that’s as soulful as it is sophisticated—a record that balances groove, intimacy, and artistry in equal measure. Rotella’s career includes collaborations with Norah Jones, Seth MacFarlane, Diane Schuur, and the legendary Stanley Turrentine. He has carved out a reputation as a versatile guitarist who can deliver across genres while always sounding unmistakably himself. With Right Time Left, he returns to the forefront, building on the success of his 2019 Savant release Side Hustle while pushing into fresh creative territory. The album thrives on the interplay between Rotella and his top-shelf collaborators:" You can read the rest of the review here...

  4. Thanks for adding me to the group. I am a long time Carver owner. Bought my first Carver in the early 90s, a TFM-25. Since then I have had a HR-752, and currently have a M1.0t, M1.5t, Sunfire Cinema Grand, CT-24, CT-7, and a C5.

  5. Jerry Weldon, The Summit was released on October 10, 2025. "While the group swings hard at every turn, there are only two bona fide flag-wavers on the menu: Gryce's fiery opener, "Minority," and Shorter's scrappy "Summit." Demetrius solos first on each one, followed by Weldon, Bond and Intorre on "Minority," Weldon, Lin, Bond and Intorre on "The Summit." Weldon wrote the carefree bossa "Sunny V" for his wife, Virginia Deberry, and the steadily walking "Damon's Day," on which he solos with Demetrius and Clotter." 6. Seth Mason, A Breath of Fresh Air was released on October 24, 2025. "At just 26, Mason is already being hailed as one of the leading pianists, composers, and producers of his generation. A Grammy nominee and the recipient of both the Bessie and Bistro Awards, he has carved out a reputation not simply as a virtuoso, but as a thinker, someone for whom rhythm, melody, and dramaturgy form an inseparable whole. His debut album, The Southern Suite (2023), earned wide critical acclaim, announcing the arrival of a pianist who could command tradition while writing a new chapter in its story. 7. 6 hour drive to visit my folks. So you know what I did? That's right. 6 more hours of live Grateful Dead. Tidal to FM transmitter deal via Bluetooth and then to truck radio. What an age we live in.

  8. Maria Muldaur, One Hour Mama - The Blues of Victoria Spivey was released on July 11, 2025 "From the opening, you’ll wonder if the set was recorded in the late 1920s or now. But that’s the finesse Maria Muldaur offers. Authenticity is added to “My Handy Man,” filled with clever double-entendre lyrics written when we were all molecules. Maria’s voice is suited to these slices of cool & her sultry bluesy narrative possesses the necessary originality before the Legion of Decency reared its ugly head. The music’s played in the spirit of an era enlivened by playfully suggestive lyrics. Call it race music, bawdy music hall, or vaudeville. Maria never tosses in any thought of imitation or parody. Lonnie Johnson’s 1930 “What Makes You Act Like That?” features Elvin Bishop sounding remarkably like an octogenarian blues legend. Impressive." You can read the rest of the review here...

  9. Joe Bonamassa, Breakthrough was released on July 18, 2025. "Produced by longtime collaborator Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Journey, The Black Crowes), Breakthrough was recorded across Los Angeles, Nashville, and Greece. It captures Bonamassa at his most fearless, venturing beyond his blues roots and leaning fully into a wide-open palette of sound and story. From Texas swing and singer-songwriter intimacy to swaggering rock and funky soul, the album brings together everything he’s honed over more than 50 releases."
