Maybe you can do this as a start. Purchase a Receptacle Tester sim to this item. As you can see from the legend it will give you a good indication of the wiring status of the receptacle you plug it into. Having a Receptacle Tester I think is a must to have in your tool bag for a start.2 points

You know what they say... Patience is a virtue. I did get a response! And they must be swamped. I'm scheduled for November. Anybody have an idea on mitigating the transformer hum in the meantime? I did read somewhere that one user found that rotating the plug 180 degrees reduced their hum, but my plug is an AC polarity plug and only goes in one way. Was the inverting m-1.0t have a non-polarity AC plug?1 point
