  2. In our conversations Andrew asked James if the Carver 753 was a derivative of the TFM 75. I didn't know what he was talking about until I ran across this tonight, in search of another M4.0T for Andrew. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/322128970305?item=322128970305&vectorid=229466&rmvSB=true
  3. For more clarification James is Retriever, and Andrew is AndrewJohn names vs user names.
  4. Finally had an opportunity to meet with a few Carver members last night. James was in Chicago for a week long seminar and he had muled an M4.0T and a Sunfire sub for me and brought them with him, so it gave us a opportunity to get a few of the local site members together for a few brews. Andrew was able to join us, but Jim was leaving that morning for Alabama so he wasn't able to join us. I was ecstatic to finally meet one of the magical and honorable Tech staff members of the infamous Carver Techs. It was also a pleasure to see Andrew again, he is such a contribution to life itself, a very thoughtful person. He brought along a carverfest coffee mug for me that he got back in 2014 and saved it till we met, along with a Helicopter Doug pen to take notes with It was a privileged and honor to meet up with these guys and talk Carver gear. Also was a privilege to meet one of James co-workers that joined us for beers and toasts. Here are a few pics of friends and new addition to my OCCD quest.

  7. Dom, thats exactly what I was thinking too. One had been replaced with the wrong driver. The xover should tell the story I would think. If they are matching x overs in the box then one driver has been replaced with wrong driver. Perhaps the x overs can direct which model it's suppose to be.
  8. Ron!! Welcome aboard the Carver Train. You will find many fellow Canucks here. Enjoy the ride

  13. Welcome to the site Itchy Looks as you have a RichP signed amp for sure. It's a shame the seller was an AH. I hate dealing with Fedex or UPS and it would have been useless to have it insured as the sender insures it so they get the money you get a credit and UPS or Fedex gets the amp and it is destroyed. No winners only losers. Fortunately the cosmetics does not interfere with the amps reproduction of the sound. Enjoy the music.

  18. Before Hendrix, Elvis and Chuck Berry, There Was Sister Rosetta Tharpe You could be forgiven if you’ve never heard the name Sister Rosetta Tharpe—or if you’re surprised to hear that to many, she’s considered “the Godmother of Rock and Roll.” Sister Rosetta might not be a household name; however, as a young woman during the 1940s through the Sixties, her recorded music and live performances played a highly significant role in the creation of rock, with Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Little Richard and Chuck Berry citing her as an inspiration. As a musician, she was simply ahead of her time. Maybe even by several decades. Born in 1915 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, Tharpe developed her distinctive style of singing and playing at age 6, when she was taken by her evangelist mother to Chicago to join Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ. At 23 she left the church and moved to New York. While performing there, she was signed by Decca Records. For the following 30 years she performed extensively to packed venues across the U.S. and Europe and recorded more than a dozen albums. Sister Rosetta died in 1973, and very little video footage exists of her today. However, what is around is not to be missed. The clips below, which were shot in the 1960s, feature Rosetta armed with her ’62 Gibson Les Paul Custom (renamed SG in 1963). In the top video, she’s playing “Up Above My Head,” a reimagined church standard with an added guitar solo, while a full gospel choir claps their hands in time to the music. In the second video, Rosetta plays “Didn’t It Rain.” It was recorded under the eaves of an abandoned train station just outside Manchester, England, in 1964. Rosetta’s remarkable musical legacy is undoubted by those who know of her impact on modern music.
