  1. Welcome to the carver site Sean! You have picked some of the best carver gear for your listening pleasure.
  2. NEVER heard of a "Party Barn"...Had to "Look it up!" LOL Lvman, it's an inside joke amoungst older members from past posts from a previous member....... All is good......
  3. IMHO I think MCIntosh was just practicing CYA, which is reasonable in todays world. It wouldn't be unusual to see some blowing their ear drums out and then suing MCIntosh... Completely understandable.
  4. You can fool some of the people all the time, you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all the people all the time................ Abe Lincoln
  5. It is to my understanding by senior members here, the true advantage of bi-amping comes with the use of active crossovers and by disconnecting the passives altogether. For those that don't have the active crossovers then there is a sense of some accomplishment (but not full advantage) of separating the crossovers and running bi-amped. The advantage is load reduction with bi-amping IMO.
  6. ya know what they say about square pegs in round holes
  7. Welcome back into the fold. Where the OCCD nuts hang out.
  8. Welcome Mark to our home away from home. I know you will like it here and will feel comfortable among many OCCD members, it's very contagious. I can't add much to what other members have already posted and can't stress how much we enjoy pics LOL. You will find a shopping cart full of different topics from Vinyl care, maintenance, and cleaning, to technical service for carver units. Enjoy and cruse the posts.
  9. “Man surprised me most about humanity. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he ...is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.” - Dalai Lama
  10. Welcome aboard, William, this is the place for the OCCD patients, take a seat and enjoy the ride.
  11. Greetings Raven, glad to see you come aboard. It's an honor to have you here as Greg is one our most adored and admired member with his surmountable knowledge in his technical abilities. Kudos for him encouraging you aboard. Like Sgt. Pepper says" we hope you enjoy the show"
  12. Thanks Rich for that post. It's a requirement in order to succeed in the NWO. Most kids today have no idea of how our government was formed, nor why. They have no idea of what the constitution is or why it existed. Our history has been distorted, Our math and science is way behind some third world countries, or the ones that used to be. Our economy is becoming more and more for the elitist. The middle class is being squeezed to the point of non existence. Some of us as parents have tried to make a difference but society as a whole make up a child's learning experience, which the Government has far reaching control of.
  13. A friend of mine got me a pair of Earforce PX4 by Turtle Beach. They are surround sound sets and have blue tooth mic piece for phone use too......... Very nice addition for gaming too.......
  14. Welcome to the site CAP I see that after all these years there is still no known cure for OCCD
  15. Haven't seen papa Joe around in awhile, Gene, you heard from him?
  16. Food For Thought 1995 `~~~~ myself I once knew a man who knew all that was to be said. He had all the worldly knowledge mesmerized in his head. But no one was interested nor would partake in his verbal bread. So when the tides of life turned, they rushed to his bed, but it was to late to reap the fruits of wisdom, for the old man was dead. Most all have heard the proverbial epic of “the wise old owl” yet our tongues kept on spouting, as if in a mindless prowl. Tis why life is so difficult for our young ones to learn And so it goes, we make the same mistakes, when it comes our turn.
  17. I found the trend. Back then I used photo bucket and since there are other pics in the photobucket so you will have to leaf through them to find the ones that have any pertanent info you may want. If anyone is wanting dimensions I'll get them and pm you what you need. Here's the trend...... http://thecarversite.com/yetanotherforum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=10162
  18. I don't recall the trend but I posted the build somewhere on the carver site LOL
  19. depending on the cabinet you can store a lot of albums in cabinet. Here's one I built that holds 400 LPs and 100 CD's
  20. LOL Phill. Nope, but its to my understanding that digital is only around 24 bits and doesn't capture all of the info that are on the grooves of an LP....... hence more sound comes from vinyl than from cd's....... Probably stuck my foot in my mouth again with that statement LOL
  21. For the connoisseur of music, digital cds do not contain the same recorded bit for bit information as vinyl does, and until it does, it can't compete with the vinyl enthusiast, nor can it compete with the vinyl's graphic layout and or folders and graphic art.
