  1. I have only known BillD from the multitude of threads on this forum that he was involved in. What a contributor/giver he was in all facets of this hobby/pursuit and still is because of what knowledge and heart is held in the threads. I was just reading a thread the other day involving a listening test that Rich had put together concerning the improvements in sound quality to mp 3s. In a text that Rich wrote he said something to the effect of- "...even a half deaf dog could hear the difference." to which BillD replied-"even a half deaf dog hears better than we do Rich" He cracked me up out loud in reading it and he let me see the joker side of him as well. So I would be honored to raise a shot of Jack Daniels Honey(which is great when kept in the freezer) to such a man when "Don't eat the yellow snow" begins!

    It's Here !!!

Got mine and have thoroughly enjoyed listening through both discs. I jumped for the remote volume on the first track listening to the rain and HELLO!!! Danged if Dire Strait and SuperTramp didn't love dynamics, crap! Well since I made it through the first 2 at that volume-leave it where it is and the house started fallin' apart. Nice set up Mark, got my sites set high on how well the system worked through the first two then blow the roof off the dam place, heheh my bride did know what to do....stuff fallin' off the walls, windows flexing Christmas decorations coming loose and falling off the tree.....and before she could say a thing I says to her "Now that there was brought to you specifically by Bob Carver and his Signature True Subwoofer a 2700 watt self powered 13" on a side brute of a little box!!" She said" turn that thing down " dam dumb hippo' s- probably mad because they didn't wipe their feet before coming in the house....but hey, we have both enjoyed the CD' s. Thanks again and Merry Christmas!
  3. I still like to hold the magazine I'm reading, the birthday card I receive rather than a Blue Mountain special and I still like the CD in my hand so I'm old. Oh well, I guess everybody else would like a cashless society- not me, I wanna see the green too.
  4. Hey Brian when you're getting the drivers ready to put the new surround on, are you supposed to remove the rotted surround and all the old glue or what? I've never done it before but was thinking the old glue would need to come off before applying new glue.
  5. That's cool as long as you don't turn them around and play them in a Party Barn...
  6. Hey Brian don't come rollin' up in here with that defensive posture calling me an elitist, it breaks me away from talking a lot of trash an' having some fun while doing so. Dang can't have fun anymore.......Hey I love the 901s and would still love to do exactly what you're doing for the same reason and probably will one day if I live through my brides beatings for buying them too Relax man, this isn't one of THOSE forums, we all enjoy anything audio but especially all things Carver, which you seem to have a plenty and those 901s ought to sing with the mk ll' s . Enjoy yourself and welcome .
  7. I lived, and still am unable to sell because I still love them, with a set of Paradigm Reference Studio 20's. They are the originals and can be had for $400 or less. Bottom end in the 40's, beautiful miss and a bit bright in the highs but your buffer would take care of that. Still available, still a great set of bookshelf/stand speakers.

  9. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=yqRzZNsrVy8 Crank it up!
  10. Cheap great problem solving, great idea thanks!
  11. I'm in receipt and am riveted by its clarity, it's just unbelievable. I didn't know they were able to record a live concert this well back in '74. So between how well they could record back then and all the technological advances there have been since then, this collection of cherry picked songs from the tour, this is by far and away the best sound recording of a live concert I have ever heard from this genre'. The perspective of your seated position sounds like midway between the stage and the mixing booth and the crowd applause wraps around you in two channel. I can only imagine what this sounds like in the blueray 24/192 version as I don't have one but WOW!!! If you have any appreciation of these guys and love to listen to awesome live recordings, don't walk, run to grab this one it really is that good. Graham did a heck of a job bringing this forward. If I had 3 thumbs, they would all be pointed up! Great live recording. SH works very well with this too.
  12. Glad to see there's another with the same sense of urgency as I have on this, welcome back brother I noticed you haven't been around.
  13. Will do.
  14. CSNY have been as big a part of my life as Pink Floyd. Happily Graham Nash has painstakingly brought forward their concerts of 1974 with what many are saying excellent quality that exceeds 4Way Street. I'm going after it!! http://www.csny.com/press/csny-announce-1974-box-set.html
  15. So the top cleaning fluid and brushes that go in those $2500 cleaners isn't available? From what I've seen they rotate the disc and vacuum.......

  17. $5.00 each plus shipping!!???
  18. Enjoyed the thread and especially like that you found a great product for $20 and knew exactly what you had and what to do and you end up with something that looks and sounds great.
  19. Good observation....I might try that first.....next time lol. But I'm just curious about what works with what we find and how you arrive in knowing what fits in what and works well and whether or not to use damping material ect. Hey, that's a good looking serious sub now. How well is it integrating and sounding?
  20. Are both of those drivers or is one passive? Are the two of them suited to the internal volume and did you put any damping material in?
  21. Very nicely done!
  22. I must be hungry, the wood grain looks like a couple of racks of ribs.
  23. Legacy sub for $20!!?? Nice haul!
  24. Hey Daddyjt did you check out Little River Band "It's along way there" long version on SH? Awesome!Caused me to run around the house with glee like a cat with turpentine on its butt!
  25. I hear ya Kmh, you need to move to St.Pete Fl and be my new best friend..
