New Member with a MXR-130 question
BobTFM35 replied to Alfa_Metal's topic in The Welcome Shop (Please read first)
Great advice from @Rob to touch base with Greg. This link has a pot from a different unit but has the same rating as what is used in the 130. It might be a candidate to keep in mind if all else fails. https://www.ebay.com/itm/166807640176? -

@Alfa_Metal Welcome to the Carver site! Did the pot in question have any markings on it, like 150KBX2? -

Welcome to the site @Andy Judd I was curious if the user manual could shed some light on what the problem with your unit could be. I have no experience with this unit, and this is only a stab in the dark. Look at and read "Front Panel Features" Number 1 Power Switch. It indicates that when the Standby LED blinks for 5 seconds its muting and waiting for the power supply to stabilize after which the speaker relays kick in and you will hear music. Something up with the power supply and or relays not working properly? I would also go to the "IN CASE OF DIFFICULTY PAGE" Kind of implying that something might be up with the speakers. Wish you well in finding the problem.

@brjoon1021 Welcome to the Carver site!! Nice to have another DTL user. I currently run and select between three digital sources that use my DTL. I accomplish this by using a dbx 200X. Each of the digital sources are connected to the tape deck 1,2, and 3 IN tape jacks. Don't need to connect to the out on the dbx since I'm not recording on any of the CD players. The Carver DTL is hooked up to Sound Processor loop #1 utilizing both the in and out connection. Your preamp is hooked up to the LINE out on the dbx to the preamp in connection, I used the CD input on my Marantz. If you look into a dbx unit make sure that it has jumpers on the encoder and decoder connections like in the below picture. They are necessary to have unless you are using an encoder and decoder in your setup. There is a switch, BYP (bypass), on the front of the dbx unit that allows you to have the DTL in or out of the signal path. Prior to deployment of the dbx unit into my system I cleaned all the switches and checked every solder joint. The nice thing is that it has no plug nor power supply at all. And that's the way to share three digital sources with one DTL. Hopefully this helps. Ps, download the DTL manual found on our site. It states that the DTL needs to be installed between the CD player and the preamp. The manual for the dbx unit is available here, https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/dbx/200x.shtml

Welcome to the Carver site. In addition to reaching out to Nelion for your amp, and if Greg doesn't do repairs on tuners I might also contact Rolland Barr at https://carveraudiorepair.com/serv.html for your tuner. Good luck on getting your gear back to operational condition. -
Welcome to the site. Looking forward to hearing more.

BobTFM35 replied to 740carver's topic in The Welcome Shop (Please read first)
@Lyn First, think about posting your introduction here https://thecarversite.com/forum/142-the-welcome-shop-please-read-first/ as it will help you to advance past the "inbound" status. The following is just one option that I know of. Add to the cost of a 4000/4000t the following For the 4000/4000t Restore Price: $450 Gundry Filter for Sonic Holography: $60 Signal Path Upgrade: $100 LED color change: $50 Remote control Volume: $175 IEC socket: $50 Comes with Nelion Audio 3 year parts and labor warranty.
