These are exact replacements?

Sorry to hijack...I have two Shure V15 Type V ME cartridges. Last used probably 30 yrs ago. Can the rubber connecting the stylus to the cartidge go bad? Should I replace it automatically if I'm going to hook it up again? The stylus itself I know isn't worn out. Can replacement styli be trusted to be just as good as original?

Yes, the two problems were that the rest of the albums were really expensive, and the choice wasn't that great. If I remember, you had to choose the full priced monthly albums from a small list. Between Columbia House and BMG, I probably signed up 3-4 times over the years. Several times I just ignored the followup letters. I'm pretty sure CH dinged my credit back in the 80's.

My dad and I signed up quite a few times. It was fine as long as you purchased the expensive album and then canceled. It was still worth it.

Gotcha. Possibly, some people on the forum may still have their old broken motors if they replaced with a different fan. I'd suggest doing a search for fan replacement threads and then contact those people.

Keep in mind that with speakers that old, there is a significant chance that the surrounds, or the diaphragm itself of the Walsh speaker may have some problems. Problems. Were there any other speakers on the market sold that had unlimited RMS power ratings like the 901s? (Which also almost needed unlimited power, lol)

To be perfectly honest with you....these speakers would be worth the 4-5 hr drive for you. I have them. They play very loud (up to 120db), they are very efficient (95-99db depending on version), very low distortion, very musical, can reproduce bass better than most any other speaker (down to 22Hz at 110db)....guarantee you would love them. You can search for old reviews of them and they are all great, even by the golden ears of mags such as Stereophile and Absolute Sound.
