Thanks Dom!  This artist is completely new to me.  I listened to this in the van today.  Fantastic.   I could not wait to get home to read his biography.  I mainly wanted to see what instrument he was playing.  I was not sure if he was piano or the vibraphone.  Now I know.

I bought this for the song "Last Pork Chop".  Great blues.  I always have been a fan.  Growing up in Texas I have some penchant for country music.  Particularly "Outlaw" country.  I was home on military leave and saw Hank Jr. at the San Angelo coliseum. What a night.  They allowed beer coolers back then.

Glad you enjoyed it Dennis. IMHO "Bags" is the premier vibraphonist of the classic jazz era (no slight to Lionel Hampton, Bobby Hutcherson, Red Norvo, Tito Puente or Cal Tjader intended). I'm in the process of uploading my entire collection of Milt Jackson titles (more than 2 dozen) for Zack because his best buddy and frat-mate is teaching him to play vibes.

I bet it is easy for him to move from percussion to vibes.

The big difference is reading the charts. Drum charts only indicate timing; vibe charts show scales AND timing.
