Receiver2000 3,257 Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Gerry Mulligan's tenor sax sure sounds different than Paul Desmond's alto sax. Seems like Brubeck plays to the lower notes as well Mulligan.
BobTFM35 2,417 Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 The Tenor sax has lower pitch to it from what I can hear. The Alto sax definitely has a much higher pitch. I guess its easier for the piano to pair with the tenor sax. If that makes sense.
