My pm1.5a put a nice beating on the 380's last night. Bass was insane. For most of the night the leds were tapping the set underneath the  " headroom exhausted" marking. That's running 4 ohms for about 5hrs.

...The lights in the whole house were lightly dimming everytime the bass hit. I estimate the amp was pushing 450-500 watts rms for the evening. The 15" woofers were taking quite a beating. Lots of deep excursion going on. My kitchen is right above the mancave And everytime I went upstairs to grab a beer all the dishes and glasses were rattling. Spls were awesome.

...Cerwin vega and carver is a wicked combination. No eq's or subs required. My bass is set flat on my preamp. All that's required is big old thumping speakers and a power house of an amp to match. I shut her down right before midnight to give the neighbors a break. Hopefully its safe to go outside today.??

That’s awesome.  Such a great combo.  I have used a lot of CV equipment in my DJ days and am constantly looking for a set for the house.  Recently found a set of AT 15 a couple hours away for $125  might be worth a try. Keep up the beatings and break in th neighbors.  ??

This is one case where the beatings do improve morale. :D

I have had the pleasure of running several CV's of the 15" variety. The AT-15 is a good one.

For $125...that's a steal! Parts for the At-15 are readily available on Ebay for a fair price.

Now here is something that a few might find interesting...but maybe not. The At-15's have a 15" woofer with foam surround, 2 mids ,1 tweeter. 102 db 1w/1m....400 watts, 4 ohms...goes down to 28hz.

...The 380's have a 15" woofer with a ribbed accordion surround, 2 mids, 1 tweeter. Also 102 db 1w/1m...405 watts, 4ohms...goes down to 25hz.

...Today I was tinkering around. I took the 380's woofers out and put them in the at-15's cabinets. They have more bass in these cabinets then the 380's cabinets they were designed for.?

Gotta love tinkering .... always ways to improve things.

Wow, surprised the cops didn't come knocking.  You've got nice neighbors!  Amazing that the VC's in those CV's didn't start melting!

Actually...my dogs were freaking out at about 11:30. Perhaps they were at my door. If so, they will come back around by Thursday night to punish me.

Okay.... now you have done it!

It seems there are a million different vintage models (just like JBL)....

I would love to see people post some suggestions. I want some tinnitus makers.

Any with real wood cabinets?

I believe the old d9's from the mid 80's were. I was living at home back then and had a pair. I had a choice to be kicked out or ditch the stereo...that was a sad day when I said goodbye to the d'9s.?

Betcha forgot alllll about those noisey fans huh,  bud...?

Ive installed two dedicated 20amp circuits to power my rig and my line conditioner meter drops to just under 105 volts (I’m assuming voltage available at the box) during the drum roll down on Roll With the Changes.

All 8 Vegas engaged.

?

Yeah when the music is cranked there is absolutely no concern over fan noise. 400+ watts running through some cerwin Vegas in a 12×30 room is like having the actual band your listening to playing live in front of you.?. Something I never really payed much attention to is the voltage number on my monster cable hts1000. I just checked it with everything turned on and its 123. Is this about normal? Now when the tunes were cranking like they were a few nights back when all the lights in the house were lightly dimming with each bass hit what should that number be showing.

I believe the voltage number is nothing more than relative.  What you’re really needing is current available which is in the voltage equation.

That being said 120 plus is what I see also on my 3500. I only use the meter to make sure that on those wicked  topped out hold my beer watch this that my rack has enough so I don’t start clipping.  Because clips are hard to hear with that much noise going on.

If I see a severe ‘voltage’ drop I back off and live for another day.

Cerwin Vegas get loud with little power. But when you feed them a lot of watts...they get insanely LOUD!?

I have 2 pair of D9's hooked up in my living room each speaker is bridged into it's own M500T. I also have 2 pair of DX9's and a pair of AT 15's as well as several other pair with smaller than 15 inch woofers
