Blues Pwr 766 Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 (edited) Here's a couple from the oft overlooked Tommy Bolin check out the base drums and sax on the cut "Post Toastee" Also replaced Ritchie Blackmore in "Deep Purple" on the "Come Taste The Band" LP. By their very nature, Greatest Hits albums are supposed to have nothing but great songs on them. That said, I’ve heard many a “Greatest Hits” album that was anything but... Oh, and that IS a great album, BTW👍 Edited November 11, 2019 by Daddyjt 1 2
Sk1Bum 11,404 Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 This is the first jazz album that I couldn't get enough of, and I still listen to it often. 3 1
Charlie 16,430 Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Another blast from the past; the whole album is wonderful to listen to IMHO....🎶 1 2
weitrhino 1,443 Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 These are the best two rock albums of 1980 in my view. Every track is a stunner and both from Canada. Rush - Permanent Waves Max Webster - Universal Juveniles 1 2 2
Bobby1970 1,451 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 I started appreciating songs from these albums late 70's from my brother's (R.I.P.) cassette tapes.. 3 1

Daddyjt 9,612 Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 Most people only know “Baker Street”, but this entire album is one of my favorites, and I can honestly say there’s not a song on it that I don’t enjoy. 1 2 2

dennismiller55 4,809 Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 @Sk1Bum Yes, I can see this R. Cray album fitting into this category. 1
Daddyjt 9,612 Posted November 28, 2019 Author Posted November 28, 2019 I received this as a gift from Tim ( @PhilDent ), and it has quickly made its way to the top of my play rotation. The sound quality is not only superb, but it is lively, active, visceral! The range of tracks keeps you guessing - there’s something different around every corner. One of, if not the best DTS mix I’ve experienced. highly recommended, and THANK YOU TIM! 1 1
PhilDent 1,962 Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 Mark, Based on our fun listening session together, I knew that you would like/love this recording. Years ago, when a buddy of mine, who was way more successful than I was, bought his first hi-fi/multi-channel system, he used this as a demo disk and it planted the seed in me, that one day, I will have a system as good as his...maybe even better. Anyhow, I'm glad you are enjoying it. 1 1
