I know my wife would complain but I'm still going to have to go listen to them.

I'm intrigued by unusual speakers.

I think I have a very vague recallection of seeing an ad for them way back in the day.  I definitley have never seen or heard them, though.

You can try telling SWMBO that they are really just modern art, but beware that you have your fast running shoes on.  :)

I'd probably better stay away. Every time I walk into that shop I walk out with something. With the size of those speakers I'd have to have a friend with a truck go with me. Note to self.....don't do it.  😓

I understand that - looks like a fun place to visit ..... I'm glad that it shows up as 2494 miles from my location ....LOL.

I'd say a novelty at best. If the brand was really that good, more speakers would be around. I see the influences of Ohm and Dahlquist in it's design. The vast majority of speakers from that era fall short by today's standards. If you have the spare cash, buy them, experience them, flip them. Move on with a little bit more speaker knowledge.

I was in that shop on Saturday,

I didn't see these (its an old posting - they might have sold). I went in there to look around and walked out with a pair of speakers.

What speakers did you get?

I picked up a pristine set of Advent Heritages for $100.  I've always like these and the wood was immaculate.

One thing that caught my eye, He had a set of Martins.  Not Martin-Logans, but Martins. Nice looking speaker but I couldn't find any info on them.

Like Zeinith4me says, he has a lot of neat stuff. Hard to go there and not buy anything.

Could be that manuacfurer but these were older models. I'd guess they were made in the late 90's.  10 inch 4 way if I remember correctly.

I have to admit that I also get a kick out of various speaker designs, whether successful or not. I use Pinterest these days to shake my head or admire DIY speakers and such. Some are more about art than sound I suspect..... Then there are those so proud of their cobbled together outdoor plywood attempt who take a selfie while leaning against it. Yikes.

Hey all! I'm the owner of Turntables & Trails, the shop ya'll are talking about. Some info:

The Sound of O Speakers after sitting for a week (on consignment) I decided just took up too much space a the shop. The owner took them back and is enjoying them in his garage. They seriously are rather impressive in size. And they sound great when fully working but he has blown the tweeters twice. (I'm not surprised given how he listens to his music). I definitely got a sort of Ohm, Dahlquist, Speakerlab mix feel on them. I tried incredibly hard to find any info on the company, even tried searching the address, phone number, etc. but no luck. Must have been fleeting.

As for those odd Martin speakers they sound nice. Definitely under-priced compared to other speakers of similar design. Probably an 80's speaker. 4 way with Tweeter and Mid Potentiometers to adjust. I thought they were just white van at first, but the drivers are all rather impressive honestly and built well. Hefty suckers not the lightweight garbage of a lot of white van things.

I'll see if I can get a photo of them up soon.

Has anyone ever heard of this brand of speakers?

I've bought gear from the shop that has these and he always has some interesting gear to drool over.

I came the link in Offer Up and I remember Carter’s posting.  These Sound Of O speakers are listed again.  The posting says only 2 pairs were ever made.

They look very large....

The "O" sound is the last noise you make when you bring them in the house and your wife hits you in the back of the head with a lead pipe.

You drag THOSE puppies in the house, and it won't be the back of your head she'll be aiming for, Rod!  **))
