Hi, my name is Tom, and I'm a noob..

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I found your forum while googling info on refurbishing my hifi gear. I like to tinker and would rather fix somthing old than replace it. Its coming up on 40 years old so it's time for filter caps for sure.

I have an M1.0t (inverting) and a C2 preamp I bought back around 1985. I also still have the same speakers (re coned a few times).

Any opinions or tips would be welcome, like where to get parts etc. My guess is I'll find plenty of options and info once I dive into the discussions.

Welcome. There is plenty of info that will be available to you shortly on the “how”. As for the parts, Mouser and Digikey are the most common sources.

Let us know what questions you have along the way.

Hello Tom, and welcome to thecarversite.com. We're glad you're hear. ;) There is a lot of information here, much technical know how, and a pretty good bunch of folks that are happy to help. There are several great techs and talented DIY'rs here. I think you'll fit right in!

Once you get to Novice status, please consider uploading some pics of your gear in the Members Systems area. We all like pics of all kinds of audio gear.

In the meantime, kick your shoes off, turn up the music, and welcome aboard.

Welcome to the group, Tom!  As others have suggested, when you get to where you can post them, we'd love pictures of your gear.  B|
