My name is Tom Wiedmann, and I live in the Pacific Northwest (happy coincidence, home of Bob Carver), about halfway between Seattle and Vancouver BC.  I've been a long-time fan of Bob's equipment, and more importantly, his creative genius.  Combining physics with engineering, electronics and a love of music, well I don't think there is a better mix.

I currently have a Sunfire Symphonic Reference Preamp, Sunfire Signature Load Invariant Power Amp, a set of two Sunfire True Subwoofers and a pair of Carver AL-III Plus in my active lineup.  I also play with the Sonic Hologram Generator, the Digital Time Lens, and a few lesser preamps and power amps that aren't in regular use.  In my spare time, I rebuild Nakamichi cassette decks, and have a pretty decent set of tools and instruments dedicated to that work.

I also play piano, a Fender Strat and a Fender Jaguar bass just for pleasure, not professionally.

Nice to meet everyone here, looking forward to what I can learn from all of you and what I may be able to share from my own experiences.  Great to be here.

Best to all of you, Tom

Hello Tom, and welcome to thecarversite.com. We're glad you're hear. ;) There is a lot of information here, much technical know how, and a pretty good bunch of folks that are happy to help.

Nice set of gear!

Once you get to Novice status, please consider uploading some pics of your gear in the Members Systems area. We all like pics of all kinds of audio gear.

In the meantime, kick your shoes off, turn up the music, and welcome aboard.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!  I will absolutely post pics of gear as soon as I reach novice status.

I'm absolutely thrilled to be here.  I find there are three kinds of people in this world, those who are Bob Carver haters who won't even look or listen (noses in the air, ears tightly closed), Bob Carver skeptics ( who eventually turn away in embarrassment when their ears prove them wrong) and those who appreciate his genius and creations for what they are.  Glad to be among friends.

Tom

Here's a pic I happened to have handy, not the best as things are not placed for listening, but shows a bit of the gear.

And yes, not a Carver topic but two top of the line Nak decks there, both legendary, the Dragon and the ZX-9.

Welcome my friend. While I do not have any Sunfire myself, anyone a Friend of Bob AND who has a love of cassettes is a friend of mine. Love the Dragon and ZX-9. I've been known to dabble in the iron oxide.
