Then we need to go to amplifier repair 101, especially after finding shorted pre-drivers. Check these resistors since you didn't mention them: R154, 156 43R FR VAS HR emitter R146, 144 10R signal coupling R168, 170 10R FR HR low current R172, 174 10R signal coupling R196, 198 22R, 27R CMR bias Deviations more than 10% are BAD PARTS. -

No dice. Swapped the input board plugs from left to right channel. Buzz stayed in right channel. Got to be somewhere else. I’ve checked all the pre drivers. drivers. Input transistors, all the capacitors, everything is good. All voltages and rails come up and down evenly. Everything is within spec. - Yesterday

I sent an email to Sunfire back when they were answering email. Here's the reset procedure for the TGx-401. Let us know if this clears up your problem. Factory reset - TGx-401 Setup>Enter Control>Enter Setting Save>Enter Reset Factory>Enter RFAC (Enter after each one). Dial up on left hand knob. Since the Sunfire TGx-401 passwords are not published anywhere… Turn knob to put in each letter: Save Dealer – SDLR Recall Dealer – RDLR Recall Factory - RFAC

Hi ChrisACX, and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us. I did a google search for the procedure, and most of what I found was some guy using your same name asking that question in a few places. We don't have the service manual for the TGP 401 in our database, and it may not be available anywhere. I did find this procedure for a TGP 3 listed on manualslib.com: -- Press the power button to turn the unit off, or turn it off from the wall for a moment. Press and continue to hold down the front panel Power button and the Tone DOWN button at the same time. The TGR-3 will power on and cycle through the display. Keep holding the buttons down until "Resetting to Factory Defaults" appears in the front panel display When the TGR-3 has been reset, it will shut off. Turn the TGR-3 back on and it will go to the default screen. It has now been reset. -- https://www.manualslib.com/manual/973076/Sunfire-Tgr-3.html?page=54 The procedure may, or may not, be similar for the TGP 401. I hope that helps.

Hi Everyone...first time poster. SUNFIRE TGP-401 AV Pre/Pro...how to do a factory reset? The unit ws workingwhen it first cmae in...but now, no output from any channel.....so, we thought we'd reset it, to start fresh. The Google AI recommendation is wrong/not applicable. I think it's referred to in the menu as factory recall settings...but, you need some sort of 4 digit PIN to reset facotry settings....this unit came in used...so, have no idea what the code is.....or, if there is an admin 4 digit code that can reset the unit. Any simple/stupid cheats to do the same thing? Let me know...thanks. Chris - acX.
