  1. Welcome to the forum Mike and congratulation on your new Carver gear. We hope you stick around. This is a great forum and "the place to be". Lots of friendly, generous and helpful members.
  2. Maybe I should consider deep cleaning my LP's. 20 + years of hidden grime. I always give them a good wipe with the D4 solution before each play. I figured if I kept them stored in good sleeves and always return them to the sleeve after play that they would not get dirty. They look clean, bright, and scratch free to the naked eye. I am cheap. Madmike's LP cleaner looks more in my budget. Besides, I like DIY.
  3. Have you ever seen this post by MadMike: DIY Record Cleaner Check out the YouTube demonstration on the last page. Neat.
  4. I no longer buy vinyl. Well almost never. I did just buy Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab " Pink Floyd DSOTM" original recording. I have not had to wash mine yet. When I first started collecting vinyl (many years ago) I got into the habit of replacing the inner sleeves with archival grade sleeves.
  5. Thanks Kevin, I will give this a try. Pops & clicks is the primary reason I don't play my vinyl very often.
  6. It is really hard to remember that far back so I will have to go with what popped into my head first. At sixteen my first vehicle was a 1959 Apache Pickup that I installed an 8-track player. My father had a Receiver with a built in 8-Track player that I used at home. I believe the first music I bought was "Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath" in 8-Track. I remember playing it back to back, over and over, again and again. My Fathers 8-Track Receiver is still on a top shelf in one of my Mothers closet.
  7. I have been using dBpoweramp CD Ripper & Audio Converter. I had tried media monkey and winamp. I went with dBpoweramp because all it does is rip CD's to flac or any other popular format. I does not have a library manager or all in one media player. It is fast and easy.
  8. Currently there is no documentation to upgrade the M1.5t to MkII status. Only the M1.0t and M500/T have the MkII upgrades. Rich (the engineer who designed the MkII upgrades) has stated he has no intentions of doing any work on the M1.5. To cramped inside with no room to work. However, a capacitor upgrade can be done on any amp. Several members here have done this to their M1.5 and have provided documentation (parts and how). This should yield you improved performance. A member hear (circuitsandconcepts) sells a capacitor upgrade for the M1.5 and PM1.5. Of course you would have to replace all the other capacitors as well. Welcome back to the site and I hope we can help you with you hunt for a new amp.
  9. Nice! Lucky daughter. I enjoy these post. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Congratulations. Pictures would be nice.
  11. Beth Hart has a very powerful voice. I have a couple of her early CD's (left here by my daughters) as well as her last collaboration with Joe Bonamassa. I look forward to this one as well.
  12. Get your free song download here: Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa "Seasaw" While you are there check out the video!
  13. I just finished this movie minutes ago. "Trouble With The Curve" with Clint Eastwood & Amy Adams Looking at his dented Mustang: "Mickey: What happened here? Gus: My garage is starting to shrink. Mickey: I think I'll drive."
  14. Photos? Where are the photos? Congratulations!
  15. My friend sent a few more. The box was waiting for me when I return home from my Texas visit. I've been playing them for the last two days.
  16. That's a neat story Dom. Thanks
  17. I have a dear friend in his late 80's who has been slowly turning over his CD collection to me. Mostly classic blues, some contemporary blues. Yesterday I received about 25 more Cd's. Some of these are hard to find. I am fortunate to know him and I am throughly enjoying the music. Have any of you inherited or been lucky enough to add to you library from a friend or family members library?
