  1. FYI - You can quote any length of text by highlighting it: And the whole post by hitting the Quote button: You can Quote multiple posts by hitting the '+' multiquote button. Maybe you've already seen this, but I thought this was Amazing...Paul even talks about a Day in the Life while walking through his old house!!!
  2. 1) A Day in the Life That's it for me. Seriously, I really never knew that song was so loved, it was always one of my favs.

  7. paypal: thecarversite@gmail.com Thank you both!
  8. The #1 Oasis unit is definitely aptX - but it has dual mode options that won't provide aptX streaming...so, as long as you're using it for say, transmitting only, then you'll get aptX.
  9. Welcome @Bevador1! The TFM-35 has some known issues that need to be serviced. It's not a lost cause. So, you can either contact the seller or hand on to it and get it serviced by one of us techs.
  10. Just making sure! I'm not 100% because I've never used one but it sounds to me that it is a standard USB that can communicate to USB devices. So if you have a USB external HDD that the Android/Apple OS can recognize, it should work.
  11. You're welcome! At least, I think you were talking about me... Check this out! https://www.fabathome.org/best-bluetooth-transmitter/ #2 on the list is so freaking cool. That little transmitter can plug directly into a stereo audio out (use adapters if needed, it comes with a 3.5mm stereo jack). It can RX or TX!!!! So all you have to do is connect it to your pre-amp headphone jack and slap on your bluetooth headphones and whala - wireless HD audio. Then again, maybe you wanna listen to YouTube on your Rack while you browse on your phone...set it to RX and you can transmit audio from your phone to a stereo input on your preamp! $30.00! What 'unit' are you talking about?
  12. LVDS and I2S are board level comm standards. Once you leave the board level domain, you have to use a transmission standard, like USB, SPDIF, TosLink, etc. With all due respect, a high quality DAC is the the golden key for digital audio. Good DACs have superior error correction that virtually eliminates noise caused by jitter effects. Moreover, good DACs transfer the digital signal to the analog circuits with smooth accuracy using more expensive methods rather than the cheap ones (and there are many ways to do this). There is a lot to be said about how a DAC transcodes into analog - it's a HUGE step in the process, and vitally important. All this talk about transmission is kinda moot compared to how important the DAC chip and chipset is. It's a lot like comparing RCA cables over your stylus... (go cheap on your needle and nothing else will help it). Also, don't wag your finger at Bluetooth audio technology. The AptX stuff is pretty damn awesome. Check out some actual measurements... http://www.sereneaudio.com/blog/how-good-is-bluetooth-audio-at-its-best Don't you ever wonder why more measurements like this aren't available? Curious...
  13. John Fucking Taylor. He was still living with his parents when they did this. LOL
  14. *bump*
  15. I will never understand how those guys got so good in such a short amount of time. I don't have early memories of Zep, but every time I hear them I think of my buddy Jim I worked with at a bust ass job in Detroit, shortly after graduating High School. He was all about Zepplin - every other band and every other form of music was judged in comparison to Zepplin. He knew everything about them, explained what was happening during the songs playing over a piece of shit radio in an old green Ford work van with 450,000 miles on it. Jimmy Page to him, was the greatest guitar play that ever lived...by far. After listening to Jim explain how Jimmy got his sound, used his cords, changed his tuning, all his guitar and amp combo choices and why - I'm still convinced to this day that Jimmy Page is definitely in the top 10 musicians that ever lived. And I have to admit...I'm not even a Zepplin 'fan'...I like them, but I'm not a Zep Head. I do not own the T-shirt. This song scared the shit out of me as a kid - don't know why...
  16. Welcome @Wjlaw! I'm eager to see you restore that wonderful receiver. We're here if you need us for anything.
  17. I first heard ABACAB at a friend's house. His dad had a pretty nice system (well, it was BIG) and let it play all day on the weekends sometimes. Anyway, it was summer, we were relaxing in the air conditioning from a hot day outside, and basically exhausted from riding our bikes. ABACAB started rocking, and I was covered in chills the entire song. I never heard anything like it. I remember asking who it was and how rad the song sounded, and my friend just shrugged and walked out to head back outside. I also remember requesting it at other people's houses (because when you're a kid, you don't really understand music taste all that much...you think everyone owns the good songs!) and they had NO IDEA what I was talking about. It wasn't until Mtv that I was able to listen to it again.
  18. I'd like to see music with more context, so I though, why not make a topic for people to share a little of their own history with music? Here's how it works: Post a memory about the song posted before you, then post a song for someone else to wax nostalgia with! You're welcome to comment on why you're posting your song for others to listen, but make it short and sweet. The spotlight is on the responder! (If you never heard it, then please defer to someone who did...bumping is allowed after 3 days of no responses) So here goes! I was just a kid when this was popular, and I remember it was the most exciting song I ever heard! I was on the school bus home and us kids were dancing in our seats like total maniacs. It was such a blast. To this day, this extraordinary artist still sounds as fresh and exciting as he did so many years ago. What were you doing when you first heard this masterpiece!
  19. Guys, If you ever have trouble with the site, please let me or @B-Man know. My email is very a obvious gmail account, and if you still have trouble, you can find it at the carvermk2.com site. I am the person that needs to know whenever something goes crash, fizzle, boing or fart with the site. The chatbox, as interesting as it is, will not help you. Us admins can help you and solve the issue, and if not solve it, at the very least we can give you an explanation for peace of mind. Our most recent outage was due to our host provider having trouble with their SRM. Basically, they broke things to make it better. I was pissed, but I'm over it now. Shit happens. Enjoy your summer friends! And please don't get mad, just tell me about it okay? Regards, Hashy
  20. @Brian_at_HHH Our new database will definitely have pictures!!!! Thank you for the suggestion.
