The annual subscription is to continue getting the upgrades as they improve it and/or fix bugs. The software will still work without the subscription. The days of owning the software are at an end. Companies realized they can better control the hacks and copying/sharing the software by not printing disc and manuals anymore. Also with everything changing to Apps makes it more cost effective for them. Our loss.

I've been using collectorz over 10 years and love it. CD's and DVD's are so easily found and never need to alphabetize them on a shelf. I just give each an index number that matches the collectorz software.
  12. Welcome. You are in a great place for gear. It seems there are always bargains showing n California and Florida. Always too far away for me. LOL You will find a wealth of knowledge here and people always willing to share and help.
  13. I’ve hade 4 M1.0t’s upgraded to mkII opt 2. Love the improvements. Well worth the $$$. I did not attempt to do them myself.
  14. Welcome Corkdust. Yes there are several of us here from the other site. I like it here better. There's more activity, exchanging of experiences and knowledge here.
  15. Welcome Scott. You've found one of the best places online.
  16. Welcome to Carver world.
  17. Welcome dfries. Nice score. If you don't want either of those pieces there are plenty of us here that will gladly take them off your hands. LOL Wishing you great success on the repair.
  18. Welcome to Carver World. I have hear Sunfire in action and I remember how strong they are. It seemed like there was not limit to power output.
  19. Welcome. M1.5t happens to be the first Carver Amp I owned too. The Amp is a beast!
  20. Yes. So far I am impressed. It is worth the time and effort I had to put in it. Supposedly it will improve even more once I swap out the Marantz AV8802a for the AV8805. I will find out before the week is over and let everyone know. I really like the AV8802a so it will be a true test. New features I really don't care much about. Sound quality is always number one for me. Especially for my music.
  21. Here are a few shots of the finished project. Holes in the process of being repaired so I didn’t shoot the rear ceiling.
  22. Success! Speakers installed and system back up. I tested it with the movie Hobbs and Shaw. The opening action screen wife came running downstairs and said it sounded like I was in a stadium and the floor upstairs was rumbling. I haven’t had a chance to listen as much as I want to yet but so far pretty impressive.

  24. Finally finished ceiling speaker installation. What a job! I had to open the ceiling up in 3 places because I had to bore through 4 support beams. I could have used a flex drill bit but needed to see if anything was attached to the beams. Found HDMI and Ethernet cables on one, 2 water pipes on another and electrical cable on the 3rd. It’s cheaper to patch the holes than it would’ve been if I had hit anyone of those hazards. Tomorrow should be fire up day after I setup the pwr amps to drive the ceiling speakers and run Audyssey. Once everything works it’ll be time to retire the Marantz AV8802a and setup the AV8805. I’m going to use 2 M1.0t mkII’s to drive the ceiling speakers so they will never be starved for power.
  25. I think you're in the middle. I think there's a member in N.C. and a couple in and around Alexandria, VA. Welcome to a great group of unselfish people.
