  1. I love vintage Klipsch speakers - they are my favorites. If I only had room for corner horns, I'd find a way. However, my Cornwalls will have to do for now. Congrats, they look great, enjoy them! Really nice refinish job.
  2. Welcome to the forum, Bill. Glad you're here.

    Tron: Legacy

Actually, I was never a big TRON fan, but after listening to the whole sound track I'm ready to go see this flic just to get the full visual effect along with the audio. It's playing in iMax 3D at the local theater here. Sounds like a great Sunday afternoon since the weather sucks anyway.
  4. My all time favorite - redux - BABY, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE
  5. Welcome fhawk, and thanks for posting your question. Sounds like many of us learned something new about the early 1.5
  6. Have never heard Days of New, but will check it out when I have an opportunity. I agree with Z, Tricycle, by Flim and the BB's, is an excellent production. I'll add one of my favorites that's a really clean recording and an excellent aural experience - that would be William Orbit's Torch Song - toward the unknown region.
  7. Welcome to the forum Dave. Glad you found us!
  8. Sounds like a sweet set up mike!
  9. Hey Mike, I'd love to see some pics of your set up, in particular the Bozaks. I remember drooling over the Bozak Concert Grands back in the day, but never purchased them. How long have you had the 302's and how do you like them?
  10. Welcome to the forum Mike!
  11. Congrats on the acquisition. My cave is approximately the same size as your room - I agree with trying to set it up along the long wall if possible. It may seem awkward, but for me the sound stage much improved over the alternate set up. Also, to break up any unwanted accoustic reflections I got my hands on some office cubicle dividers which I framed in 1x3 pine and mounted on the other long wall. Of course, I didn't have dry wall - which is very dense. Mine is T-111 siding.
  12. Those are awesome speakers. I'd scoop them up in a flash if I were you.
  13. Welcome! Very nice set up.

    Unusual Vinyl Finds

Some of my favorites... and...I love the 3D foldout wings on this one
  17. Very true Z. I guess I'm just in a hardware mode lately and having fun with it!
  18. Thanks for that feedback Steve. Like I said, most of my collection is standard weight, but I do have one vinyl record that I purchased on ebay that may be heavier weight vinyl. I've never been able to get my TT to track it properly - and it's the only one I've ever had a problem with. I'm beginning to understand why that might be the case. Other opinions, etc, on heavy weight versus standard thickness are welcome. It's a real point of curiosity.
  19. I love listening to my vinyl recordings. Most of the records I have are classic originals that I have owned since they were first released. Quality is variable, but most are very listenable. My question is, if I bought a recording on 180 or 200 gram vinyl, should I expect a superior product, or just the same results I'd get if I purchased a new pressing of "regular" weight vinyl? There are likely a lot of variables - quality of the pressing, the original production, re-mastering quality, etc..., but, what I'm interested in are the results/opinions of people who have tried the products. Further, what I'm wondering about are the critical issues of sound quality and surface noise of the records as well as physical aspects such as warpage. Any input?
  20. Excellent piece of work Balok!
  21. Great article - I particularly like the last section on the best sounding recordings on vinyl. Thanks for posting. Here's a site where I've found some interesting stuff on turntables and vinyl. Information over on the Klipsch forum pointed me toward it. I was looking for an alignment protractor to check out my turntable... vinylengine.com
