compwaco 1,129
This is a tough one. After eliminating the stuff that is arguably blues (Stevie Ray) or country (Skynyrd) my choice is: The Temples Of Syrinx By Rush Album: 2112 Honorable Mentions: Frank Zappa - Stevie's Spanking, Triumph - Blinding Light Show, Concrete Blonde - Carry Me Away

staticvar 56
I'm still lame at posting pic's and Alex Harvey was elusive at best...His first and last solo record after TSAHB was called The Mafia Stole My Guitar...on side two of that record he does the greatest version of "Shaking All Over" that you will ever hear...Absolutely Killer. I bought the record back in 1979 and to this day it still sends shivers down my back bone...

Community Admin AndrewJohn 8,261 Posted July 19, 2014 Community Admin Share Posted July 19, 2014 For me, it's a toss-up between two songs from The Who. Several Pink Floyd and Rush tunes come to mind, but I have to go with The Who. We Won't Get Fooled Again. Who can forget this footage with the original band members and Townsend inventing slam-dancing. Runner up: Love Reign On Me

Runner up: Love Reign On Me I saw this Who tour...1975...Love Reign On Me is a powerful song that will make any decent man cry...On Nick Cave's "Dig Lazarus Dig"LP he does a song called " Hold Onto Yourself"....with those Seagulls swirling in the background reminds me of the Who...I also recommend the Pixies latest effort...double LP @ 45 rpm...Indy Cindy...
oldtexasdog 2,370
All Along The Watchtower - from an arrangement heard in "Battlestar Galactica" (Bob Dylan, Bear McCreary) I think this version truly captures the essance of the lyrics-besides it gives your subs a good work out!
