  1. MXR-130 - seeking help to repair this model. There is a strange almost like arcing sound that only happens when plugged directly to the AC outlet. When I run the amp from my DBT it glows bright at the start then dims but remains a little brighter than I would normally expect. I don't hear any relays click and the fuse does not blow. But that arcing sound scares me. Any ideas? Thx

  2. Hi Way San, and welcome to thecarversite.com I moved your topic to the Welcome Shop. It's customary to tell us a bit about yourself and your audio journey. I see that you've started a thread in the proper forum, and the MXR receivers are popular here. There are many threads about repair and refurbishment.

  5. I have finally received the last of the restored drivers from the Ohm corporation. One subwoofer is rebuilt and that's why the difference in appearance. Total of 5 drivers restored by them. It has taken about 10 months for this all to happen because of a couple of transitional periods that the corporation was going through. The service is still very very good to say the least. These are 1979 models that I acquired through a person that Greg and I met a year ago. Wow @Nahash5150 it's already been a year. Cant believe it. Our friend definitely had a huge collection of gear and after Greg and I met him I had to grab these speakers. He had 2 sets along with many more sets of other Ohm models. The late John @ the Ohm corporation used to call our supplier the Ohm Museum guy. He was well known for his collection. I was able to get these I's and the Walsh 4's that are in my Living room. I used to listen to the L's when I was in high school. My brother had an NAD receiver, Micro Seiki TT, along with the L bookshelf speakers. Those little speakers always impressed me. These I's were definitely worth waiting for. I have them paired with the M4.0t MKII that @Nahash5150 built for me a couple years ago and so far with the little time that I have fired them up for some early testing, I have found my speakers that can handle anything I have for power. Hey GREG!!! I hope you got your crossovers done and are enjoying your set too. Got some clean up work on the covers but other than that they are finished.
