  5. Yep, know that side of the water. Many moons ago, did a large networking project for the 480th. Enjoyed going there every day for about 6 months.

  7. @Half Life Thanks. And the answer is Yes! Forget about the grass too many CCR records to spin. I use to live on the other side of the James River for over a year, long ago, Langley. Spent many a weekend at Virginia Beach, Norfolk for a variety of reasons. These are the other units on the left side of the three bay.

  26. I can see how Discogs would be a problem for serious collectors. I only use it just as a database for my collection and I have used it to buy records that I want from other users. So, it's okay for my use. It also gives me a rough estimate of the value of my collection...but, since I never really intend to sell, that's not all that big of deal for me (other than knowing what I paid for a record is in the ballpark of the market price). But, yeah, there are way too many versions of the same record/pressing.... nobody is cleaning that stuff up. I don't use the forums or get involved with debate over the records.... really didn't even know that was going on in the site, lol. But, knowing the audiophile world, I guess that's par for the course. Hard to find an audio forum where people are having 100% constructive, polite, conversations. That's one of the things I like about this site (though there have been some rough patches here, too).... most everyone gets along with each other and is very helpful on the Carversite.

  27. Being exposed to Carver gear counts in my eyes. All it takes is that first step. Could it be a nice Carver SD/A-390t 5‑Disc Carousel CD Player, or one of the many amps that Bob has designed. My first step was a TFM 35, and after that .... Dip your toe once and the rest will be history. Good luck on your restoration of the Amber, its kind of a cool looking piece of equipment.

  28. @RickO, BTW, your old handle, @Mr. M-500t, and profile, still exists..., As @Sk1Bum indicated, your password can be reset..., just ask. All your posts and thread contributions from your time (2012 and before) are still here. BTW, you might notice that the back-end platform has changed. the original became crusty and was not going forward - @Nahash5150 put the effort into finding, and migrating the old TCS to this new platform..., much easier to use, and to put threads together with pictures! And so much more you'll get to find out as you visit more. Again, welcome back -
