  1. Welcome to theCarversite, William! You're starting with a nice collection of gear! When it comes time to have your M-500t repaired, you should consider having it upgraded to MkII by one of the techs here. Looking forward to seeing pics of your setup!
  2. Tubes are like wee candles? Fascinating simile! But they are practical for a little light and heat... Please tell Greg that I told you that the B-52's sound best through a TFM-75, so he needs to park it in the bedroom for your exclusive listening pleasure. That C-2 is a rarity! I think they issue you a C-9 when you join the site... I've seen Greg mention Omnisats a few times. I remember being intrigued by them when they first came out, but unfortunately I've never heard them. Definitely on the list!
  3. Welcome to theCarversite, Raven! Do you have your own sound system? If so, we love pictures! What kind of music do you listen to?
  4. Interesting hearing "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" sung in Korean.
  5. Welcome (back), C.A.P! I know it's been a while, but would you please take the time to tell us all about the two M-500t's you had custom anodized black? We'd be especially interested in any photos you had of them or the process. Thanks!
  6. Nice work, Joe! Thanks for the pics.
  7. Another early Xmas gift! Thanks to Rod for posting about this a few months ago.
  8. My hope is that it will get investors' attention that there are still people who care about the quality of music.
  9. Sweet baadassssss songs! Thanks to maddmaster for the heads-up on this one. A surprising amount of deep bass in these otherwise mellow tunes from Sade (minus Sade).
  10. Thanks for the heads-up on this from the "Techno Wars" thread, Toy Maker! And you're right, Daddyjt- this stuff *will* test your system in a scary way!! The dynamic range is an absurdly low 2-3dB. I'm used to regularly clipping all the amps, but it's another thing entirely to watch them *stay" at full output for 20 seconds at a time! I was really expecting smoke and flames...
  11. A wonderful suggestion, Kev! But not on New Year's Eve. I expect most of us would be out partying. I would definitely try to incorporate the Carversite Reference Disk into the lineup, but I have a feeling the other guests wouldn't be accommodating. Howabout 4am Jan 1, when things have calmed down, and people could appreciate more mellow music?
  12. Come to think of it, an Earthquake SLAPS ought to be compatible: SLAPS passive radiators from Earthquake Sound 10" and 12", so they'll fit the box. And 4" of peak-peak excursion! Designed to be easily tunable, and affordable, too.
  13. Arrived yesterday: Thanks for the advice, Rodney! This album does indeed make a good companion to "Moving Pictures". And my neighbor did mention that he wouldn't mind hearing more Rush.
