  1. Welcome Mike. Will you do me a favour? Drive down to Regina and kick Durant in the ass for me. Thanks.
  2. All is well in the Universe again. Snow: I think your point was a very good one and I am glad you made it. Steve: If the boa takes your eye out, don't call me. That's out of my scope.
  3. Derek and the Dominos. Layla and other assorted love songs. The remastered CD (from 1991, I think) is crap and my LP copy (don't know when it was made) is even worse.
  4. I could swear that TNRabbit once said that NOTHING can make him drive fast.

    Watchmen

This is what I remember from biology class: Pithing /pɪθɪŋ/ is a slaughtering technique in which the brain of the animal is destroyed by a tool called a pithing cane or rod, which is inserted into the hole which is created by captive bolt stunning. I don't believe that my brain was destroyed by watching this movie. I had no knowledge of Watchmen at all before i watched this movie but I enjoyed this movie immensely.....all three hours of it. Great characters, alternate 1980s, who could ask for more.
  6. Howz 'bout this one:
  7. So many possibilities. Maybe
  8. Welcome to the forum kcetp. That is a beautiful room. I see you've ditched the fireplace in favour of the more efficient tube amps.
  9. Welcome bored184. Nice gear. Thanks for the photos.
  10. From "The Cowboys" John Wayne (Wil) to Bruce Dern (Asa) Wil Andersen: I'm thirty years older than you are. I had my back broke once, and my hip twice. And on my worst day I could beat the hell out of you. Asa Watts: [smiles, shakes his head] I don't think so. Wil Andersen: You will.
  11. Interesting, very interesting. My neighbour picked up my DAC in October and I asked for the stock tubes as I had heard his and really liked it. He picked up a set of the black plates as well because Garry really liked them. I was very happy with the stock 6N3. But, since I had these black plates I thought i would give them a try. The black plates are more dynamic, tighter, better resolution and have pinpoint imaging. However, to my ears, they are a bit too clinical thus giving the sound a little too much solid state sound. The 6N3s seem just a little softer and a bit more tubelike which, to me, is a bit more musically satisfying. I will leave the black plates in for a while but I think I will end up going back to the 6N3s.
  12. Welcome Jeffrey. Good to see another member from Alberta. There are a few of us. I see you are also into Musical Paradise. Excellent. I have the MP 401 and 301mk3 amps AND the DAC. In fact I just changed the tubes in the DAC from the stock 6N3 to the GE 5670 Black Plates. Running the 6550s in the 401 and 6L6 in the 301. Really good stuff. What are you using in the DAC?
  13. Ha Ha we fooled him. Time to reveal our TRUE selves........
  14. Welcome SDMF, if that is your real name.. Let me be the first to ask you to post some pics of your gear. This will save everybody else from having to type that, although they will anyway.
  15. Thanks for the tip staticvar. I also have a Squeezebox Touch. Bought it in July of this year. I badly needed something to replace the pathetic over the air local radio stations. (business expense ) I bring the Touch home every weekend. Sadly, the Squeezebox Touch has been DISCONTINUED. My neighbour also had one but it was faulty so Logitech told him to send it back and they would send him a replacement. By the time Logitch received his, they claimed that they had NO MORE units and he would be getting a refund cheque in the mail. He was bummed to say the least.
  16. Thank you for taking on this position staticvar. It will be good to have an Albertan in power! (I assume you take bribes and drink beer) (or accept beer as a bribe)
  17. This looks WAY too organized to ever work! Welcome to the forum Harvanator.
  18. As I said, he was pulling away when I thought to grab my phone so this is all I got. A smarter person would have taken a pic of the RCA victor record player!
  19. I was out camping this weekend. On Saturday morning I was heading to the latrine and spotted a car coming down the road. I am not an expert but knew it was a 1950s car because it had big fins. He pulls up beside me and shouts "If a guy gets drunk out here will they kick him out?" I walked up to the car and said "I hope so" (I likes my peace and quiet while camping). The driver was about 70 years old and told me the car was appraised at $150,000. "They don't make these anymore", he says which puzzled me because I was sure that I had seen a commercial for a 2012 Desoto on TV the other day. Anyway the car was a 1957 Desoto Firedome sportsman. I leaned in to look inside and he says "It even had a record player!" Sure enough there was an RCA Victor record player inside! I said "Sure, it plays those special 45s that can play for 45 minutes. Yup. The stuff you learn on Carver site, priceless. True story. I took a quick pic of the car with my phone as he drove away. It will likely be several years before i figure out how to transfer it to my computer.
  20. It would be a pain to have to change the 45 every 2 to 2.5 minutes. You would need one of these to keep everything organized.
  21. Looks like some kind of turbocharger!
  22. Welcome Jason. Nice collection of amps you have there.
  23. Welcome MarkyM. Enjoy the M1.0t.
  24. I had a copy of Sound and Vision from about 2001 that had an interview with Neil. He was backing DVD-audio 100%.
