Hello and welcome to the site. I had a MK4 Sunfire that was fine in my house but when plugged into a friend of mine he had a bad hum. Try different rooms on different circuits and see if it makes a difference. He eventually found a circuit that was quiet.
@radtraveller I was talking about capacitors. These speakers can handle over 1000 watts so I'm not looking for speakers.
I have listened to Kevins Tektons and they do sound very good but I also heard these Ohm I's and they are all I need.
And a lot cheaper. But thank you for the insight .
The refurb and upgrades are finally started and the first shipment of drivers are on their way to the Ohm Corp. for rebuilds. Mid/woofers with SBA's and Low Tweeters are first on the agenda.
Next will be the Subwoofers getting shipped out for their rebuilds and upgrades with SBA's. Here are the upgrades still available for these beasts.
There are many upgrades for the Ohm Is. The 12" sub-woofer can get a SubBass Activator and vent adapter to extend the bass below 28 Hz. The 8" mid-woofer can get a new cone with a smoother transition to the low tweeter. The Low Tweeter can go to the new 2" metal dome. The front high tweeter can go to the 3/4" metal dome tweeter. The crossover can have upgrade poly-caps.
I haven't made up my mind on the crossovers yet. I want really good caps for these and there aren't very many at all so I can spend more on better ones.
Opinions on quality and types of caps are welcome all you speaker builders. 😉
I have no experience with center Channel speakers except for my old Yamaha systems. I dont know if you are dead set on NHT for the brand but I have a beautiful Piano Black Mirage OMD-2 and OMD-1 center speaker if interested along with some JBL's centers too.
It is not advised to use a wall plug as a source of voltage while testing equipment. There are a number of things why those relays are not closing. Can you take a pic of the board where the fuses are? Did you or anyone else change the small caps on that board? A common mistake on this particular amp is installing caps backwards because the polarity symbol is for positive and not negative like most boards.
Looks a little corroded. Wire and jumpers but it is normal and see that all the time. The brown stuff is glue. And the relays aren't turning on because of protection. Are you using a Variac? Or are you plugging it into the wall?
