I have had plenty of CV's in my day and don't get me wrong, I really like CV's. BUT, they are made for rockin and pounding. lol
I have had those days and plenty of them to the point that I wanted to discover other speakers and their abilities in different applications.
Of all the CV's I have tried, the most disappointment I got was when I bought some D9's. I was sure that they could match up and have a better sound than my V15-E's but that wasn't the case. And also, I haven't found a set of speakers that will take all of the 500 watts that my M4.0t MKII can push.
I do have a set of Ohm I's that are in the process of rebuilding which are supposed to handle 1500 watts. But until then, my V15's are what I got to use and I think they sound great in the room I have them in.
No CV will match what the Polk SDA SRS's can sound like or these Ohm Walsh 4's. But then again it is a different application and totally different room size. When I want to get heavy I go downstairs and when I want to be mellow or watch movies, then I'm upstairs. CV's downstairs, Walsh4's upstairs.
With the Polk's it seemed like I had to use the tv as a center channel to get the voices at a decent level to hear what they were saying but not with the Walsh 4's.
They are so full and have incredible bass as they are down firing and ported out the bottom with directional mids and tweets on top. And the direction of them can be changed with the switches on the back.
CV's are a totally different kind of speaker and I know they won't give me what I want with only 2 speakers.
