There are many artists in this category! I grew up in the 60s and 70s, many folk artists fit well in this category. Crosby stills hash and young, Joni Mitchell, Simon and garfunkel, Jackson Browne and early cat stevens, lastly One of my favorites is warren Zevon. He wrote a lot of hits for Linda Ronstadt. I’m also a huge Johnny Cash fan as well.

The 900 is a good unit. I have one, actually got it to introduce my brother to the carver brand. He likes it much better in his 2 channel setup over is former Sony 5.1 receiver! Thanks to Kevin @kve777fir the recommendation. The other Carver receiver I’ve owned and gave to a friend is the AVR-100 with remote. It was a freebie add on to a pair of speakers I picked up for cheap. as far a knob, ask, someone may have extras, I bought a few from les @Circuits & Conceptsa while back and are better quality than the originals, he only had the one style. I’ve been using Amazon HD music for a good while snd use the echo link into my DAC. Sounds good, easy to use and can easily be controlled with my iPhone app! now I’m in hospital still use it with my iPhone and sound-core liberty iii earbuds. Does a good job, sure can’t wait to go home!

I usually have them 12-18 inches from back wall, Polk suggests no toe in, keeping the fronts square to the wall! not sure if the dampening inside affects the soundstage, I have dynamat on all the 6.5” drivers, I have Black hole acoustic dampening behind the woofers and tweeters! you are going to love these, experiment on distance from the wall! barry

Other than Lt’s setup, which sounded nice; I heard them demoed at the dc hi fi group meeting with the new kef subwoofer. They sounded very good. I can see how a large room would not work well. Near field these would be excellent! barry

I have SDA 1b’s. Polk still stocks many of the old drivers, In most cases the replacements are better than the originals!
