Send me the woofers, I'll take care of them. If they are shot, I have an extra pair.
My next reform job is four AR-93's, there are 8 woofers in all. I've done hundreds, it's kinda fun.
A few tips-
- Use folded cardboard strips as 'springs' to hold the cone up gently while attaching the surround to the cone. Two to five, depending on the size.
- Mark the "up" position before removing from the cabinet, install upside-down when done to counter spider sag.
- Use 50/50 white glue and water brushed on dry cones for extra strength.
- Use 50/50 black RTV and acetone for that 'wet' look over surrounds like on Snells.
- I like 3M Plastic and Emblem Adhesive to bond surrounds. Get it at auto parts stores.
