weitrhino 1,423
The list is getting long......... Any other suggestions how we should handle it? Yes. Two separate projects; One commemorative, the other sonic. Creates less work and expense when someone only wants one or the other disc. I didn't submit anything for the sonic side because the project seems to be running counter to what I'd want. For the reference disc: Water Under The Bridge, Pshychodots, Psychodots Jaco, Jonas Hellborg, Bass

pindrop 329
Just want to say that threads like this one introduce a lot of excellent and well recorded music to me. I have a subscription to Spotify and not all are available to me but most are. So this thread along with "What are you listening to" bring a great deal of music I have never heard, or have heard but forgotten and greatly appreciate being reminded of. If our last disc had been made of vinyl, it would sound like crap by now due to over usage. I will buy how ever many discs we come up with, just keep suggesting your best!

trav0810 586
Frey wrote the lyrics to Hotel California. It is considered to be the most famous of all the Eagles songs and it certainly has the best lyrics. It is listed on pretty much every top 10 list of rock songs all time. Clearly it is Frey's masterpiece. It's also one of three extremely over-played songs I refuse to listen to anymore. Freebird, Hotel California and Stairway to Heaven. The Hell Freezes Over live Hotel California is one of my go-to reference tracks. It is one of the best engineered live recordings I have heard. The one issue I have with the Live version is the bass line. The loudness level on the subs seems very artificial. Try it with a Sunfire EQ-10. I have to turn the sub down two notches. I don't run a sub with my SDA's so I don't get that as much. I like the way you can actually feel the bass drum punch you in the chest.
jldeni 439
I took another listen to my Flim & the BB's CD and discovered that I had named the wrong track. The one I would actually like to see (hear) on the next reference disc is not Thunder and Birdies, it is: Lunch Hour Wedding March by Flim & The BB's from Tricycle Sorry for the confusion - I'd like to change my selection. Lunch Hour Wedding March will fit this purpose perfectly.
