The Rippingtons, Soul Riders from the Fountain of Youth album. Several songs on that album feature the bass player, but this on stands out for me.

 

 

Now I just need to follow Ponce De La Kool Kat and find that fountain of youth.  Dammit, why is youth wasted on the young?

This track (Everything Must Go, by Steely Dan) is flat-out THE BEST sounding kick-drum I have ever heard on my system.  I hate the intro (cacughanous combination of sax, drums, guitar), but at the :50 mark starts perhaps my current favorite SD song…

I agree @Daddyjt. I have this album in multichannel and it sounds fantastic!  I agree that the beginning is a bit rambunctious, but I think it is a common song formula - create tension with dissonance in one passage and then resolve it in the next.  It makes the good part sound even better.  I’ll have to crank this one up tonight, although wifey doesn’t dig SD at all.
