I can see how Discogs would be a problem for serious collectors. I only use it just as a database for my collection and I have used it to buy records that I want from other users. So, it's okay for my use. It also gives me a rough estimate of the value of my collection...but, since I never really intend to sell, that's not all that big of deal for me (other than knowing what I paid for a record is in the ballpark of the market price). But, yeah, there are way too many versions of the same record/pressing.... nobody is cleaning that stuff up. I don't use the forums or get involved with debate over the records.... really didn't even know that was going on in the site, lol. But, knowing the audiophile world, I guess that's par for the course. Hard to find an audio forum where people are having 100% constructive, polite, conversations. That's one of the things I like about this site (though there have been some rough patches here, too).... most everyone gets along with each other and is very helpful on the Carversite.
