  3. My daily dose. The Rippingtons, Weekend In Monaco (album) How the heck does Jazz Cat expect that car to navigate those curves coming up? The only way I see it is he's going to have to stop and pull a Road Runner trick and paint a tunnel.

  6. Difficult to say what might be going on. I suggest more testing to help isolate the problem. I would disconnect everything except the speakers and an antenna. Then set the tuner to a strong station and see if the problem occurs again. If the unit is operating OK, then proceed with adding various sources. First a CD player. If everything is good, then add the turn table. Hopefully this process will help identify the fault. It could be the receiver, cables or one of your source units.

  8. Found a great copy of my favorite 1973 album by the Staehely Brothers - STA-HAY-LEE. Great recording, almost zero record noise! Brings back some GOOD memories! Bob

  9. Hi, I have an MRX-150; impeccably maintained. Bought in the 80's and had since, some work done over the years like relays, some resistors and general clean up. I haven't recapped since it still works great but I bought the recap package just in case. My main system now is a Parasound Halo with Polk RTi12's which I like a lot but still use the Carver with small Klipsch RP-600M's I have both systems side by side and switch between them depending on my mood. I'm not an audiophile by any means but I love my Carver and hope to continue to use for many years. People criticize it but I don't care; it sounds great to me. On a side story, my repair guy (Modular Electronics) tells me these older units can be repaired whereas a lot of the new stuff has proprietary chips that become obsolete very quickly.

  12. Congratulations on your success and welcome aboard, Bob! Please take a moment and tell us about yourself, your gear and your audio journey. When you've received a handful of 'thumbsup' comments, you will be able to attach pics. We all love Carver, of course, but also appreciate everything audio. There are several other members from The Buckeye State here. Pull up a chair, pour a beverage and crank up some tunes!

  13. Kevin Brown Quintet, Adventus was released on November 25, 2025. “This collection of music seeks to recreate that space for reflection and preparation through revisiting specific historical music that has been traditionally used during the period of Advent. Through some study of Medieval music and participation in more liturgical traditions, I have come to appreciate the beauty of this historical music. Yet, at the same time, contemporary ears can’t help but hear and explore new ways of bringing the music to life.” You can read the rest of the review here...

  16. Well, I have an MXR-130 and I had to make on my 3D printer parts to put back into the Faceblock. Not a great picture as this system has size limitations. All the pushbuttons on the bottom were made by me. I also make the regular buttons for the controls. I made the buttons and had to re-engineer the parts holding them as they were broke too. The reason why you don’t see them out there is because it takes a lot of time to get them right, and they don’t sell.

  17. That it is. Jazz Cat probably needs binoculars just to see the hood ornament.
