These are the OEM Polk “upgrade” tweeters that belong in those speakers - the RDO-194. Polk has contracted Midwest to distribute the classic SDA drivers. https://www.midwestspeakerrepair.com/shop/home-audio/tweeters/polk-audio-1-tweeters/polk-audio-sl2000-1-inch-dome-tweeter/

Favorite high dynamic range percussion

Mannheim Steamroller’s “Fresh Aire” Series was some of the first music I listened to when I got serious about music in the late 80’s. IIRC, there was only I-IV back then. 8 is by far the boldest of the Fresh Aire albums - the bass on “Big Bang” literally made my Velodyne DD12 “walk” about 10” when my system was on bare concrete in the basement prior to finishing... -

The YouTube video doesn’t really do it justice, but “Fractals” off Fresh Aire 8 has some pretty intense percussion... -
9v battery terminals connected to the speaker terminals briefly. If the speaker cone pushes “out”, the positive speaker terminal is the one hooked to the positive battery terminal. If the cone pushes “in”, that’s out of phase. There is no harm in this test for woofers and mids - I don’t think its useful for tweeters.

The sealing gasket looks to be on the spent side - source new ones if you can, otherwise ensure you get the existing ones in the correct position before mounting the driver/PR. Also, I would verify +/- with the 9v battery test, and not trust the red dots, as they can move:-)
-
If you are going to refurb the cabinet, I STRONGLY recommend you take the opportunity to install T-nuts on both the driver and PR screw holes, if they are not already installed. I have seen one Sunfire that has T-nuts, and two that do not. The sheer mass of the driver requires them, IMHO.

Your thoughts? Inquiring minds want to know...:-) -
The first one you show is the passive radiator, the second is the actual driver. Both look to be stock “Hi Vi”.

Gregory Alan Isakov Nice alternative/folk mix - well recorded and immensely listenable.

The Cold War - What We Saw. I know that most here are probably well-versed in history, however this podcast series is outstanding. I have linked the episode on the Berlin Airlift, which I found fascinating. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-cold-war-what-we-saw/id1471188269?i=1000465583750

@Brian_at_HHH - I have a decent Denon that does SACD and DVD-A that I can send you for nothing but the cost of shipping... it works great - it was in my sons setup, until I just got him into an Oppo 103 so he could run a FLAC HDD. -

Dire Straits - Love Over Gold mfsl SACD. THIS DISC IS SPECTACULAR... It might even unseat Rumors DVD-A as my #1 go-to reference recording. https://www.mofi.com/product-p/udsacd2187.htm -

Infinity Kappa (6, 7, 8, and of course 9) series (Not the Kappa “.1” series, ie: 7.1, 8.1, etc) pair nicely with 1.0t mkII, M4.0t, TFM45, Silver 7t/9t. Klipsch (any Heritage series or RF/RB series) with a M500t mkII. Polk SDA SRS with M1.0t mkII. NHT 2.5(i) with M500t mkII, M1.0t mkII, M4.0t/TFM 45, Silver 7t/9t.

For the love of god, I get it. I too have 10’s of thousands of FLAC files, but you know what? They sound like “poo” compared to SACD and DVDA. Therefore, I should never listen to FLAC, CD or Redbook ever again? Really? I’ll tell you something else - I have some really nice gear, and some outstanding recordings, and I enjoy my critical listening sessions. However, the vast majority of my listening? Ear buds. Yup, that’s right - working in the yard, out for a walk or hike, or even working in the basement/garage - earbuds and mp3 or XM. You see, I’d rather have my music and/or talk shows with me doing these activities at maybe a lesser quality, than stick my nose in the air and berate anything short of an “audiophile” quality experience. this thread was meant to highlight a nice offer in a crazy time. If you’re not interested, stay on your high horse and ride on by...
