I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I played this track in my car system in the early 90’s...

Welcome to the forum, glad you found us. IIRC, @kve777 is in your neck of the woods, and is a solid tech. -
Ok, that makes sense - sorry for the oversight. In that case, maybe something like this might be a better permanent solution... https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-SPEAKER-BAFFLES-PROTECTORS-UNIVERSAL-6-5-OR-5-25-PAIR-CAR-SPEAKERS/272892716727?hash=item3f89ac66b7:g:vagAAMXQMXRQ9HPN

Do the mids not have their own sealed chamber?

His last one with Alex Jones was a hoot - Rogen has his work cut out for him, keeping Alex on track. The latest one with Shapiro was outstanding.

I know, I know - it’s not “technical” or “ground breaking”, but damn it rocks...

Now there’s a blast from the past. Spun the Level 42 cd in my car countless times back in the day... i always lived “Children Say” - great punchy bass line.

“Ward, I think you were a little hard on the Beaver last night...”

I just listened to this one last night - Outstanding "snappy" bass line, coupled with Michael's raspy/smooth voice... What a great song.

The bass/drum synch in Queen’sryche’s Della Brown delivers outstanding punch. The prominence of the bass in the song gives it a very dark feel, which is appropriate given the incredibly sad lyrics. The song is a straight- up gut punch, but beautiful at the same time... Della Brown You've got a cardboard house. Live there all the time. Keep your memories tied with string The face that many once-adored, twenty years gone maybe more. Somewhere you lost your dream. Mama watched your every move, but now you're all alone. She's been gone for awhile. Daddy left some time ago, fading years pass too slow. He's the only one, could make you smile. --oh, you're still crying-- Big city bound. Gonna make your mark. Read your name in the lights. All the ads and people say, beauty lets you get your way. Tried your best to prove them right. But living on the streets ain't bad, sad people make you glad. Pardon me, could you spare some change? --oh, you're still crying-- Street corner girl. Watch the crowd go by, fill your tin can with life. Summer days tend to slip away like your men you couldn't make them stay. Hard to choose, whiskey or a wife. Sometimes you wonder where's the end. Where you goin' where you been? Happiness seems so hard to win. Most never care to find, Della Brown sees it all the time. Looking for the man to make her smile again.

Mouse traps with peanut butter are about 99% effective in my experience. If it’s enticing enough to draw them in, you’ll get them in the trap.

Depending on the size of the ports (if they’re close to standard DWV pipe sizes), you might consider PVC/ABS test plugs. I’ve used them before to modify box tuning in car audio applications. Just insert into the port, and tighten the wing nut.

What do you have in there...? ????
-
Not an overly demanding or creative bass line, but it’s prominent, and it rocks?
-
I would solve the mouse problem, not the symptom of them getting in the speakers...

My favorite exchange from Justified: Dewy Crow - “BOYD - your brother’s been shot!” Boyd - “Where?” Dewy - “At his house...” Boyd - “No, dumbass - where on his body?” Dewy - “I dunno...” Boyd - “We’ll is it SERIOUS??” Dewy - “Yea, he’s dead...” one of my favorite series-
