  8. Stop looking at specs and listen to it. Set the preamp at the highest capacitance available.
  9. That cartridge is a rebranded Audio Technica AT-91. Is your C1 stock of has it had the Bill-D treatment? Also, you should consider signing up on Vinyl Engine to access a wealth of turntable and cartridge information! https://www.vinylengine.com/library/audio-technica/at91.shtml
  10. Welcome aboard Damon!
  11. Are there any used CD/ record shops nearby? There was one here that just closed up a couple months ago that had a restoration machine. They charged $2 a disc and they always came out looking like new.

  14. Welcome aboard! If you have pulled the jumpers to use the CM-1090 as a pre, no signal gets to the amp section and the meters do not move.
  15. Yep. Scroll down on the main page to here:
  16. Did you say damping factor?
  17. I have a functioning but ugly 1201 if you want to move the guts to a plate. Yours if ya want it.
  18. What about a PM-1200/1201?

Mastering (done by the pro's) for vinyl was different. They knew the bandwidth and compression realities of the vinyl medium. RIAA equalization and the physical limits of groove width and stylus acceleration etc. Also music was once produced to give the best results on AM radio broadcasts. Look into the "Wall of Sound" for just one example. Then there was the whole Loudness War.
