  1. Do tell, how is this integrated into your system? What a fabulous setup - the PL gear is just beautiful.
  2. Welcome @M1.5tman, glad you found us. There is a LOT of great stuff here on fixing and repairs... but for us Non-Tech types (I'm a non-tech type)..., there is an abundance of other good stuff on all things audio sharing the experience of the other members in pursuing everything audio - including Carver gear. Again, welcome and looking forward to hearing more about your audio experience. That TFM-55 is a great amp!
  3. Welcome, @DMarkB, Glad you found us, and joined. Can't wait to hear more about your Carver journey. And we'll try to get you hooked on OCCD (Obsessive Carver Collecting Disorder). 😉 Where in Houston are you located (what burrough?) I lived in Katy for a couple years working in oil and gas exploration technology. I have fond memories of Houston..., and want to go visit again, someday.
  4. Welcome, @Reload - Glad you found us. Looking forward to learning of your Carver journey.
  5. Welcome to the site! Glad you found us.
  6. Welcome to TheCarverSite, @hauntedz28. Glad you found us. And this is exciting to find a guy who knows a guy with that many Carver amps! I hope he has one or two to sell... 😉 I'm looking for a TFM-75, just in case 😉 . Regarding parts lists..., it's hard to find anyone who has an accurate list to share, unless it's one they did yesterday, and is one from a DIY'er. and even then, it's likely out of date due to changes. Most also won't stand behind it for the same reason. I'm sure you'll understand that the paid, and in the business techs who are members here are also unlikely to share their work for free - which is understandable since it's really their I.P. They help out when they can, of course. (BTW, I'm not a tech.) And honestly, with recent supply chain changes, and typical capacitors becoming unobtainium, sourcing is one of those wonderful things that has to be redone, over and over, as what Mouser and Digikey have today, is not what they have tomorrow..., any "list" of parts becomes obsolete quite rapidly. As @Ar9Jim already noted, it's also somewhat dependent on your objective (refresh or ?). In the archives (the SEARCH tool is helpful to find), there are some historical threads that have some lists for some amps - I would use those, along with reviewing the schematics and parts lists, combined with a very healthy dose of building/checking your own parts list(s) for each amp project. It's a PITA, but it is what it is. Hope that is helpful to set expectations. To be clear, noone keeps active parts lists or project lists for Mouser orders for those reasons. the existing parts lists, and the schematics' parts lists in the service manuals are all out of date for the same reason.
  7. Yes, the OCCD force is strong with this one. 😉 Welcome back, Daniel !
  8. Welcome to TheCarverSite! Glad you found us. There are a few threads answering the question: What Carver amps are nulled to what other non-Carver amps? There's a list of all the t-modded amps that reference what amps the transfer-function i nulled to, around here somewhere. How Bob did it? In a circuit? or by adjusting his own circuit design..., I dunno - that's above my head! Again, welcome!
  9. Welcome, @Steve Snow, glad you found us. That's a good sub - and worth fixing, if it is not catastrophically damaged. Hang around a while, and add some content. We love pictures!
  10. Welcome to the site, @Tekerman. Glad you found us. And you'll fit right in, here! Post some pictures of your gear - we love audio pics.
  11. Where are you located? Do I read (between the lines) that you are outside of the US? The Carver Car Audio gear pops up on Ebay, every so often. There was one head unit, and a couple of amp designs, IIRC. There are manuals in the library for some of the Carver Car Audio gear, if you are interested in checking it out. There was one guy who built out a car configuration with 6 or 7 amps, powering a series of speakers in a VW CC sedan. I forget who - but search will find it! 😉 Again, WELCOME!
  12. Welcome @3M_Audio, glad you found us! Looking forward to your posts. Carver or other gear - we focus on Carver, but love to see other projects too. BTW, did you ever do any Carver Car Audio? There's a few threads here on that, too.
  13. Overnight momentum! Way to go, Lerma and Jim!
  14. @Ar9Jim, here's an example of "the power of social media." This morning, the new Bob Carver Facebook page (link in post above) had 1 like, and 2 followers. Now it's over 100 in both categories! I posted in a few places that the new FB Page had launched for Bob Carver Corp. That was 6 hours ago. Right now, here's what the stats are for the interest in Bob Carver Corp. Pretty damn significant. I realize others may have posted, shared, liked, and followed - making this number possible..., but social media can be used for good, and people can discern/filter/ignore the evil, and leverage the value..., just like anything else, even walking down the street one must do this. Jim, Really great to see Lerma's work on this Facebook page. Pretty soon, we'll have you up to some 3300 followers! 😉 Let Lerma know! Good post over there, today. Some other interesting things resulting..., I had an opportunity to reset a few pieces of miss-information. Someone is still saying that Bob Carver is dead, or owned by Emotiva..., I posted links to the press release from 2013 clarifying the separation from Emotiva - two guys were happy to learn the truth. I also invited a number of people with questions about Bob, and the new products, to contact YOU Jim, by joining over here on www.thecarversite.com, and posting in your "Ask Bob" thread. I'm busting my butt trying to keep the synergy and connective tissue of the FB site @RichP714 started in 2014 when he set that up. And the proof will be if we can see a difference here with new members. There's GOLD here on this site, and Facebook is aweful, at best, to retain institutional knowledge and build community like we do over here around Bob Carver Products past and current.
  15. FYI, @Ar9Jim created a new Bob Carver Corp. Facebook page...! If you are on Facebook, please check it out, like it, share it, follow it..., you know, help them get some momentum on social media 😉 Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/bobcarvercorp Facebook There are more pictures there on the FB site..., too.
  16. @itchitch, and don't forget member @The Raven ! 😉
  17. Excellent, @Ar9Jim Looking forward to the visit to "The Factory," and hearing the new amp! BTW, your TheCarverSite avatar still is the 275's..., seems like it should be the gold-colored-cage 285 amp, now. Just an ancillary question..., for @xavionics..., Why is the "Ryno Rax" missing from the "For Sale" section on this site? 😉 Seems like a good place for it to be showcased. (Just helpin' a brother out!)
  18. @Roughcut48, sorry about that glitch in the past. Often, the return email mentioned, goes unnoticed into an member-applicant's spam folder, to be lost forever. Since that was years ago, and someone else was on watch back then (we rotate moderators occasionally, and the site has been around for over a decade - that's lots of folks!), it's hard to say what happened - but today, we can say, thanks for joining! That setup you had sounds like a super system! At one point, I had a pair of TFM-35 amps. What gear are you looking for today? There may be someone here (even could be me!) who has available overflow gear to sell. Really glad you found us and this time you are now in! Looking to hear more about your journey and Carver gear interests going forward.

If the top rail has more "vertical overhang" than the bottom rail has "vertical lip edge," when constructing the "T" shape/cross-section of the rails, you can lift the album up, pull the bottom of the record forward, and lower the record out of the top rail. simple design trick to ensure any earth movement doesn't cause the album to fall forward yet doesn't require you slide out all the records to the end, to get one out from the middle. I could draw a CAD drawing of that..., but it's pretty easy to understand, I think.

One of the challenges of individual "hangers" for a single album, is to get them aligned, so they don't look all wonky, once you put them on the wall. The solutions I tried that were commercially available, for one album, ..., all came out looking crooked/wonky. They were (in hindsight) designed for product manufacturing and shipping ease. Not final presentation. I even used a laser, but they never looked perfect. My solution, get a simple piece of molding from the local Home Depot (lots of designs to choose from) and a 1/4in quarter-round molding, and mount the molding to the wall where you want a row of album covers. Glue the 1/4 round to the front edge to hold the album from slipping off the edge. and voila' perfection. Everything looks straight and level. Add a second row underneath and a third above, if desired. Cheaper too. Just another option for you.
  21. Watched "47 Ronin" with Keanu Reeves last night. Very engaging, not overdone. My wife chose it and liked it. It's based on an early 18th century story in Japan, that has become hallowed ground and even a holiday. A believable story that takes place and presents a believable depiction of Feudal Japan of the time, with believable acting and special effects that were not overdone. A "Ronin" is a samurai that has failed to protect and keep the honor of his master or a samurai without a leader. In the story, 47 go forth, against the ruling Shogun's directive to not pursue justice against another rival and ultimately avenge the death of their master, and restore his honor through the samurai code of Bushidō. I like these kinds of movies (another would be Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon). It is also a love story, with a ghost or two, a witch, demons, and incorporates the legend of Tengu. Some interesting anecdotes about the movie: https://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11/04/10-things-you-need-to-know-about-47-ronin The trailer:
  22. Sometimes it sucked, too..., w/o trailers and previews..., the medium (newspaper) had limited ability to convey what was in the movie. Really crappy movies duped moviegoers...., I recall a movie my friends chose back in High School to go to as a group..., it was simply awful (to me). One friend, who went on to go to Art School, liked it. Me? stuck with me as the worst movie I ever sat through in a theater... worse than the original Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis. The movie: John Boorman's "Zardoz." (BTW, John Boorman directed "Deliverance.") " Zardoz is a 1974 Irish-American science fantasy film written, produced, and directed by John Boorman and starring Sean Connery and Charlotte Rampling, and featuring Sara Kestelman. The film, Connery's second post-James Bond role—after The Offence—was shot by cinematographer Geoffrey Unsworth on a budget of US$1.57 million[2] as it depicts a future world where a stone image called "Zardoz" instructs the "Brutals" to kill each other for eternal life. " I couldn't find a single movie theater ad, but did find the ad-slick movie production companies would give to movie theaters to create their own newspaper ads in the local papers. Maybe it was Sean Connery that made this movie suck? Or was it just that ridiculous mustache (hardly something that a future post apocalyptic survivor would have...) Then, again, this movie has a Cult Following..., many call it a "must see." So, of course, YMMV, and my opinion means nothing. 😉 For those, the entire movie is up on YouTube...,, here (to buy or rent):
  23. Ditto. I understand music, music theory, have perfect pitch, and can play many instruments, including non-fretted kind that demand good understanding of pitch/tone/intonation..., but lyrics, I have to read. Same issue with TV/Movies. I always watch with the subtitles on, or I would have no idea what is going on.
  24. Welcome @fev1969. You found a good place to begin (and maintain!) your journey. the Sunfire Signature is a nice amp, and the $1000 price tag is about at market. The TFM 45 is a highly coveted amp, and will serve you (and your speakers) well. As noted by @BobTFM35, plan on getting it serviced. Any TFM amp that has not been serviced (consumable components replaced, service bulletins applied, and fine-tune-adjustments) is going to sound tired and won't give you the full rich Carver amp experience. These amps are approaching 30-35 years in age, but can sound glorious, and better than new, with high-end modern capacitors and adjustments applied. Nelion is the place to go. If you don't pick up these amps, please post in our "found deals" thread - so someone else might benefit... Me, personally? Well, My OCCD would probably buy both, and send them both directly to Nelion for service 😉 Again, welcome, and glad you found us. Please post what you end up doing! (BTW, I have 2 TFM 45 amps..., among many others! 😉
  25. True words ! You are going to fit in here..., superbly! Welcome to the site, Gary! The m200t amp is a nice amp..., I have one in my office setup. And it's a good starting point on your OCCD journey..., oh, yes, you will try other Carver Amps..., I can predict the future! LoL. Again, welcome, and glad you found us!
