  1. I don't see how the Neutrik would work since the speakers need to sit flush on the stand and be bolted to it or how you would be able to squeeze it to release.
  2. Gary(TNRabbit) said a Sunfire 400x7 could blow the woofers, but Bob said in his talk that they stayed linear @45volts 20to20khz 506 4ohm watts. What will my M1.0t mkll opt2 do to them?
  3. The Polks are on full time when the umbilical cord is attached between the speakers, they also can be played without it plugged in as CT-Seven(Bryan) can attest to with his SRS2's hooked to his 500t mkll. He just doesn't have an SH unit but he says he loves the way the Polks sound, they just need the x-over rebuilt to get the best out of them and the x-over is a major part of how they work their magic beyond the umbilical. They can be set up normally as in set wide apart as opposed to close together and perfectly aimed in SH.
  4. I'm thinking time smear/echo, like listening to music at the other end of an under road culvert.
  5. So what is it that you need Bryan? I'm at a loss on this blade/blade pin/blade etc. I know it's the umbilical hook up between the speakers but what is the modification? same thing you did to the Monitorsa recapping of the Xover OK I was thinking you had found a way to modify the umbilicals and in/outs on the cabinets. They are what aren't making sense to me. It would seem like you could do that but I think I also remember something about the ground or something about your amp that would keep you from hooking them together that way. I'll look to see what's needed for the x-over mod and pm you. Maybe we can work something out.

  7. Good story, good wife MCP.
  8. Welcome MCP, your name indicates you have a predisposition towards OCCD and are accepting of it. We will gladly help you along with that, there are certainly worse maladies! Enjoy the site.
  9. Ya messed up PMAT, it really was a fun project and an astounding result. Get another set
  10. The advice on refreshing the x-overs in your speakers while you're waiting from UncleMeat is an absolute. A friend of mine and I tore in to a set of Polk Monitor 10's not too long ago with no prior experience in soldering or x-over refreshing and brought a set of dark muddy sounding speakers to a great, for their price range, sounding set of speakers for relatively very little cash out. The change in them blew us away in the clarity obtained in the mid/highs and in the depth and impact of the bass. Caps and resistors have come a long way in 20+ years.
  11. How about Muskrat Love or any song the Ice Cream truck plays? That thing makes me want to go out and throw rocks through the windshield when it goes by.
  12. How about a full set up for Home Theatre surround using Definitive Technology in your $ +- 500 price range. Check the prices on what is below and PM me if you're interested. WAF is high on these and they are full range. This set up sounds awesome as they are, I just haven't refurbished the cosmetics yet so if you're handy I can save you a bunch and you get the whole matching system at once. My wife loved the sound and look when I set it all up temporarily here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Definitive-Technology-BP-10-Bi-Polar-Tower-Speakers-/111573095174?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item19fa465306 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Definitive-Technology-CLR-1000-Center-Channel-Speaker-/331556791727?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d325325af http://www.ebay.com/itm/Definitive-BP-2-Bi-Polar-surround-stand-speakers-Original-Box-and-Manual-/161704516112?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item25a6571a10
  13. Shoot, to go in that way you would have to duck for the lights and crawl in. Yea that was a bit deceptive but we're caught up now. Your chair isn't going to move back anymore than what it is now either.
  14. So with those lights there you have to duck to go into your cave, now that's a real man cave. Looks like you're having a good time in that picture, that's you listening nearfield. It looks like a great room, thanks for sharing.
  15. Nearfield listening with the H9AV is all the better if you can bring your Mc's out in front of your rack and set them 2' apart and you can set your chair back 4' to 4 1/2'. But if that is your listening chair in the picture and it's as far back as you can go....problem in trying SH. Nice bunch of equipment you have there! I wasn't here when you were last but welcome back.

I pondered that question for a moment and then thought about a how tomb quiet my C-1 is and then remembered the spec of -114 s/n, I can't think of a use other than cleanliness because I sure don't see the backside of my components for extended periods.
  17. Freedom of speech, choice and intellect all rolled to one? I LOVE IT!!!!
  18. Good one t.
  19. Welcome to the forum Ralphies, if you have the time and like to read you are going to learn a huge amount from this place. Great like minded people that like to help you in most any audio related endeavor. Pindrop
  20. Welcome BillyDef! Great start on an amp, are you able to work on electronics? Hopefully yours will arrive in operating condition but even so, all with their age need freshening. To give you research reading the m4.0t tfm 42/45 are all 3 the same amp. Settle in and enjoy
  21. Congrats Bill, glad your fingers have held up.
  22. One of my go to' s on Pandora is Assembly of Dust. Good clean recordings for the most part and alot of different instruments and plenty of dynamics. Little Feat etc. cruise through giving you ideas for another station. A lot of songs work well with SH.
  23. Lol you're right about that, they will chase the dog around but I took some 2x2 and built a square stand to sit under my Sunfire Sig 13", put 3 spikes under it and attached the sub with blu tack and it stays in place quite well now.
  24. That's a nice 'table Kevin, I have a change can with its name on the front. Chiro is right, it's probably time to Karma' that Studio for the Classic
  25. How American of you Bean ++++agreed but I do have quite a few lp' s and agree with Travis that it is a calming ritual with sonic benefits at that time that seem to serve our audio nervosa better.
