  1. Howdy Ron and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you onboard. Hope you enjoy your stay with us. We LOVE electronics porn. Please post photos of your toys in Member's Systems when you get a chance.
  2. Right diaphragm, wrong frame. (It fits the physically smaller opening in the AT-12.)
  3. Novus works on deep scratches too, it just takes longer to buff them out. For the square footage you have I'd invest $40-50 in an electric orbital buffer:
  4. Why recone if the only issue is a dented dust cap? Most times you can pull the dent out with a piece of tape or a dental pick. If that doesn't work cut it off with an exacto knife and glue on a new one. I've used Novus scratch remover and polish to refinish acrylic turntable covers. Worked great on the thick acrylic lenses on my M-500(t)s and TX-11b too.
  5. Howdy Bob and welcome to the forum. Are ya gonna make us beg for stystem photos?
  6. Howdy Greg and welcome to the forum. Thanks for the link.
  7. Cool beans Gene. Anytime is a good time to go LP hunting. I really miss the Dusty Groove, Reckless Records and Val's Halla in Chicago.

    DIY Spin Clean

Nicely done Perry Are ya gonna make a cool video like that too?
  13. Many of the albums I grew up with fall into the "great music, $uck a$$ sound" category. For instance, the untiled Blue Oyster Cult and Wishbone Ash albums sound great on AM radio. But I find the albums difficult to listen to and the CD releases weren't much better.

    Cleaning Vinyl

While some of that "crud" was probably tar and nicotine, most was just the vinyl "bleeding". (The wash water turns brown when cleaning brand new just out of the shrink wrap albums.)
  15. Click on FREE Downloads (far right under KINDS OF THINGS) or use THIS link
  16. My first music purchases were 45's that I bought in the mid 60's with money from a paper route. All of them are long gone and I honestly don't remember any of the titles. Around 1967 my parents won this ElectroPhonic combo unit as a door prize at a church function. They had something similar in the living room so it wound up in my bedroom (shared with 2 brothers). Not long after we got it I made my first trip to the local head shop/music store and bought 5 albums: The Doors - The Doors Frank Zappa's Freak Out Pink Floyd's Piper At The Gates Of Dawn The Moody Blues' Days Of Future Passed Iron Butterfly's in-a-godda-da-vida I still have all 5 LPs even though they are unlistenable and have been replaced at least once.
  17. 1. No one does MKII upgrades to M-1.5(t)s or any of the pro amps. 2. If you DID MKII an M-1.5(t) the result would be a PM-1.5/1200. The PT2400 is a MONSTER. I use one in my PA rack to drive 4 subs. (The other amps are PM-1200s, 2 for the mains and 1 for stage monitors.)
  18. Howdy Bucky! Glad you found your way back to the Carver Site. Why don't you tell us something about your taste in music and listening habits? What type of cabinet are you building and which driver are you going to install? WIll it run in mono or stereo? Does it have a dual voice coils? As for amps I agree with your buddy, Carver Pro is the way to go. (As long as cosmetics and cooling fan noise is not a big issue for you.) The PM-1.5 and it's identical twin (the PM-1200) are pretty good choices Both are based on the M-1.5 with balanced inputs and beefier output devices. If you are looking for more power check out the PT1800 and PT2400.
  19. I got a good chuckle of of this

  23. Actually PET stands for PolyEthylene Terephthalate which is one of many polyesters. Polyester is a category of long chain polymers containing an ester group in it's main chain. PET is also used to make clothing, fiber fill/insulation, water bottles, paint/coatings, tape, etc.
