  1. Those speakers are SRS 2's and if you got them for $175 ya done good!!! The Monitor 10A's are some great speakers, but can't hold a candle to the SRS2's. Did you get the interconnect cable? Is it blade/blade or pin/blade? I have the SRS 2's with the blade/blade configuration and did an upgrade and rebuild of the crossovers. These speakers sound wonderful. Because of their size, they are not known for WAF though! LOL On the Monitor 10A's, let me look out in my stash and see what I have available. Seems like I have the main drivers and the Peerless tweeters for Polk 10A's. The newer tweeters Polk sells won't fit the opening, and the crossovers are not made for them. For the 10A you need the peerless tweets.
  2. Family projects are the best! Those Monitor 10A's are IMHO one of the best speakers Polk ever made. I have a set of 10A's in my shop powered by a TFM-55 and C-11 pre. Wonderful sound from them. I've used a TFM-45 with them also.
  3. Thanks Dano. The plans for the basic one you used for the concept are what I have been thinking about building. Found them somewhere, but don't remember where. The improvements you added make it perfect! I'd be very grateful for the PM of the measurements etc. you mentioned. Thanks for the offer
  4. Very nice!!! That's a great design for a record cabinet, and your workmanship is beautiful! I really like the lower sliding record bins as well as the CD shelves and drawer. Did you design it yourself, or are plans available somewhere?
  5. Get one of these, or find someone who has one. I know, I know, they are very expensive, but from what I've heard they will work miracles. Here is a thread about it over on the Polk forum. BTW, the price on these has really gone up since this thread was started! I've thought very seriously about getting one and offering a flattening service. If there is enough interest it might be something I'd do in the new year. Any interest???
  6. Welcome Bob!! Thanks for posting the photos of your goodies
  7. Welcome Greg!
  8. I need a subwoofer that will work well with the Purdy Creations (Sunfire CRM-2) speakers I have. My Polk pw111 sux. Went over to Best Buy yesterday and brought home a Klipsch SW-350. Not pleased at all with the sound, and the darn thing is made in China!!!! Sounds about the same to me as the Polk 111, boomy and not that solid base I'm looking for. That Klipsch is going back to BB today! Been thinking about the Sunfire True Subwoofers. They are costly, and before I make a decision need some input from anyone who might have one. Of course, as usual, I'm drawn the the most expensive model, the TS EQ12 Sig. TIA for any advise.
  9. I agree Don. Got a chance last weekend at a GTG in North Texas to hear these speakers. We were all very impressed with the sound these little speakers put out. Of course they don't have the sound of the Sunfire CRM-2's, but for the price I don't think you will find another speaker that will come close to them. Pioneer has a hit on their hands here!
  10. Sammy Hagar "I Can't Drive 55" for sure! I remember back when the speed limit was 55 nationwide, I was just like Sammy Hagar. I could not drive 55! Had a "Fuzz Buster" on the dash that warned me of radar, but still got a few tickets. Now we can drive 80 on some roads here in TX. I like that
  11. Welcome!! Very nice system and a beautiful listening area you have there. From the sounds of it, you must be into photography as well as superb audio.
  12. Very nice Bill!!! Those speakers look AWESOME!!! I'll bet they sound awesome too! All I need to do is win Mega Millions, Power ball, or Lotto Texas, then I can afford a pair of them!!
  13. Good job Gene! That was a good buy. They look like they just came off the show room floor! Enjoy
  14. Welcome! ^^^^What he said^^^^
