  2. I do have the Klipsch AW-650 (White) on our upper deck. They are significantly better than the Boston Acoustics Voyager 2 that they replaced. I wanted a bit more bass so I added an OSD Forza - 8 passive sub. The Forza is just 'okay'. I selected it because of price and it had speaker wire in AND out. I should have gone with a 10" sub, at least. There is a big difference in sensitivity between the Forza (lower) and the Klipsch. I had an in wall pot so I wired the them so the pot controls the Klipsch - allowing more power to go to the sub. This allowed me to get 'more' bass (from the sub) at volume. I recently replaced my Polk Audio Atrium Sat300 - they were about 13 years old. They really didn't hold up well, fully exposed in the flower beds in the front of our house. I bought a pair of OSD Forza 6.5" Landscape Speakers. They have a few nice (included) options for ground mounting. These are a huge upgrade from the Polks (even when new). OSD is mostly a commercial brand so their speakers have a built in transformer. You can drive them with a stereo amp or a Voltage amp. Each speak has an 8" Sonance CRKW Rock Subwoofer. I had bought these when they were on sale 20 years ago and the still sound great. (They have been painted three different colors over the years)

  4. I have had the polks for a good while and have enjoyed them but I have never had anything else to compare them to?
  5. I heard the Dirty Weekend at an audio show a few years ago. Pretty impressive for entry level. Not sure if they still make them.
  6. @AndrewJohn, you could do these yourself. While not difficult, it is a time consuming task. Going to be very similar job as I did on my MG 1's. Process would be the same. The buzzing is likely either coil loops lifted, hole/s in the mylar film or a combo of both. To fix any holes in the mylar; you need some mylar tape (Scotch brand), 3M 77 spray adhesive (to hold down the tape and wires) and some Milloxane or 3M Fastbond (to seal the repairs). Definitely doable.
  7. Thanks. Not really, just changing them sometimes, depending of the season.😊 Of course, if I just want to rock the house, I will plug the Zu !
  8. Eric Clapton & BB King Hold On, I'm Coming
  9. I have two pairs of the Klipsch AW 650’s. I love them. I’ve got them powered by a small Fosi amp, they sound great. Painted them to match my siding. Picked up a second set last fall for$75.
  10. Yesterday
  11. I have the polk atrium 8's outside on my patio..., they are OK, and I too updated from Niles, to the Polks, so they were an improvement. But from others I've asked, (I think @itchitch has the Klipsch, too), I will go with the Klipsh, probably this or next year.
  12. Nice inventory!!! Do you use a different speaker for a specific type of music?
  13. Thanks. There is ! Many more, just does not appear on the pics. Ess amt1b will be the "until I die" ones because it's the best price/size/shape/weight/efficiency/design/musicality combination. Love my zu def4, also the omen MK2 with undertone. Utah guys rock ! Sounlab audiophile 6 are amazing also ! The dynaudio consequences are sculptural ... Watt/puppy 3.2 are a bit darker, just need to shake them well with tons of power. French vintage monitoring sound with the Elipson 4040, pretty true when well paired. Also the very enjoyable Analysis audio Omikron. And soon, a pair of freshly rebuild (as the audiophile 6) Soundlab Pristine. I globally love them all ! When I was 15, in 2001, I've been to Utah for 5 months, in Springville, discovered later that Wilson Audio was 10 minutes drive from my place ! 🤣 Didn't had enough money nor place in the plane anyway ...
  14. Jimmy Page & Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) In The Evening (live In Detroit 1995)
  15. Jethro Tull (Ian Anderson) Rock Island (Album)
  16. Jethro Tull (Ian Anderson) Walk Into The Light (Album)
  17. Jethro Tull Stormwatch (Album)
  18. The worst looking fake wood vinyl that I've ever seen. I gave my brother a set of Polk SDA 2A speakers. I built him a m1.0t mkII. He has a LARGE space. It's a fantastic combo. Six years later, he still raves about it.
  19. I currently have a pair of Niles OS 6.3 outdoor speakers driven my a Carver M200t. I mostly play smooth jazz, blues with the occasional talk radio or St. Louis Cardinals baseball game. The Niles speakers have served me well, but they are getting pretty long in the tooth. I'm hoping for a great Amazon Prime Days deal on either Klipsch AW-650s or Polk Atrium 8s. Any thoughts, suggestions, other recommendations? Klipsch AW-650 on Amazon Polk Atrium 8 on Amazon
  20. I've been listening to my Polk SDA 1C speakers all morning, driven by an m1.0t..., what a perfect combination - I am discovering things I missed on DSTOM tracks 2, 3, 4 and 5. They (Polks, perhaps in general?) just don't need any more bass..., But I totally hear your thoughts on the Maggies. I have a pair of IIIa's, and they are stunning, when supported by a subwoofer, or two. I'm at a crossroads with them, they need to have some buzzing fixed - redone/refurb at Magnapan is almost $3000 - which would include a new tweeter ribbon assembly..., but perhaps I should just sell them as is, before the buzz is more noticeable. ;-/ I want to love Maggies, but it's hard, sometimes.
  21. My daily dose. The Rippingtons, Brave New World (album)
  22. I have a pair of Polk Audio 5b's that fake wood vinyl is looking a little tatter. I might just have to redo them, I have had them since new. Great job on the veneer looks better than original. Were these originally veneer or were they the vinyl fake wood?
  23. The Polks look great! The sub looks great, too. Maybe this will inspire me to re-veneer my subs.....
  24. Beautiful work! Gives me some other ideas for the Carverfst Subwoofer build project!
  25. Nice work Jeff! Did you rebuild the x-overs on the Polk 11s?
  26. I don't think you have enough equipment in that room. 😁 Nice setup! Looks like a great place to just listen.
  27. Those are beautiful, Jeff! Love seeing projects like this. Thanks for sharing it!
