  1. Heck they were on tour together. Can't help hearing what the other band is playing and a riff gets into your mind and the next thing you make something that you feel is yours but everything you have heard is gonna influence it. It's all a progression, and music, along with creating it is a journey in itself.
  2. Let us know how the vinyl version sounds
  3. I just can't get this one out of my HEAD!! Ray LaMontagne Hey No Pressure
  4. Ray LaMontagne Hey No Pressure
  5. Welcome. Enjoy the music don't chase it.
  6. New Basement Tapes-The Chain-M500t MKII, Grant tube buffer-Bill D C1- CF-15 Speakers-Mirage sub.Oppo CDP Thanks again Dennis for the Karma. Spanish Mary almost blew a speaker on my CF-15 Speakers!!!
  7. My vote is for Rambel On It succeeds not only for the strength of its endlessly catchy chorus (you’re probably humming it right now — I know I am), but for the delicate verses built around a bass-percussion interplay incorporating a bare-hand beat (how Bonham made the sound is still contested).
  8. Welcome 4X4. Kick back and enjoy!
  9. Like I said before many times. "That is where the fun is " It is fun to research a favorite artist recordings. Look for the Mixing engineer-and the pressing company.
  10. Just received my first pressing of Dark Star on Monday. 22.00 180 gram. Have found others-I have really enjoyed chasing some great recordings on LP, I used to chase them on CD. Heck still do. I don't like compressed MP!!! A lot of the fun is in researching the master and where and by whom it has been mastered. Then the pressing itself.
  11. Sweet!! Sit back and stay a while.
  12. I have chased the purist route. I have found a proper sized sub with a EQ just fills in the blanks. Right now I use a m-500t mkII a BillD C1, Grant tube buffer-turn table through a set of the CF 2015 speakers with a small but very musical Mirage sub. Room is 17X24 and it sounds simply amazing!! Where ever you sit.
  13. Dark Star-David Bowie
  14. Very Clean and tidy there Jim!! I could say even SEXY
  15. Welcome shamrock. We love pics
  16. Some Jazz by Josh Maxi on my latest tube amp completion. Sounds sweet.
  17. I have dozens of hours on mine by now. When I first listened, I thought they were a bit lacking in their lower range of 100-120hz or so. However, I discovered that the more I used them the better they seemed to become in this range. Also, through trying different listening levels I decided they are much better when pushed to at least a medium-high volume. They do sound full and rich being driven at around half the power (on average) of my M4.0T, and they do match up well with the Signature sub I'm using. So, yes. I think there is a "loosening up" period as well. I also said this early on. They like POWER!!
  18. This is a group that was one of Susan's Favs on American Idol this year. While I liked and was impressed with them I was not in any hurry to go out and purchase their music. Then at CF this year we were at Watershed 10 with Harry and Mark and he had this album on his laptop that he was using as a music streamer. Susan was Ga-Ga, me still not so. We got home and all she wanted was this album So I bought it for her on Vinyl 180 gram. WOW!! I was blown away on the CF speakers on the TT system. Much better than I remembered it. The packaging was outstanding also! Mastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway, engineered by Justin Cortelyou, recorded at many locations around the world, featuring Elton John,Steve Vai, Naya Rivera ,Lang Lang, Sky Ferreira ,and Zucchero. Then pressed on blue 108g vinyl at Masterworks Musiconvinyl.
  19. Welcome. Come on in and enjoy the company!!
  20. I call it "The BillD tighten up" as he told me what to do. If they start humming even when not playing it's time. If they don't-then don't worry about it. I tend to drive mine hard.
  21. Like they all say a True Sunfire Sub. The maintiance is only a once a year thing that takes maybe a half an hour but with proper patience and shopping you can get one for around 400.00
  22. Thanks. Went with the 13/32 as it was not as tight and easier to work with. The mini XLR hole in the bottom plate required a little enlargment also on both plates, but got it all together now and playing. Thanks again for the help, as I got it done I saw where I was trying to Overthink it!
