  1. I can only do a soda, but I'll be out with friends then. I'll be sure to play it when I get home!
  2. The issue is they are going to the United Kingdom -- $$$
  3. I was uninspired by that teaser...
  4. http://thecarversite.com/yetanotherforum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=9238 I've owned & heard many speakers in my 53 years on this blue ball. Favs include the Klipsch KLF-20, JBL 4312 Studio Monitor, Carver Amazing Platinums & AL-III, Legacy Whispers, Polk SDA SRSs, the BIG McIntosh line source speakers, Sunfire Amazing Line Source & James Sauter's newest speakers based on the Sunfire Amazing Line Source (really incredible effort). I'd have to say the BEST setup I've ever heard were the Tidal Audio "Sunray" speakers I heard at the Capitol Audio Fest in Washington DC summer 2013. Retailing at @ $154,000 per pair, none of us will ever own a pair, but they were simply astounding in all respects (link above). Weight? 1,150 lbs.....
  5. http://www.cnet.com/news/ear-candy-audeze-improves-its-already-great-headphones/ Has anyone heard these?
  6. Being a drummer myself, I find it pointless to try to pick a "best of all time" when there are SO MANY unbelievably talented drummers out there....many of whom are hardly known. Check out "young drummer of the year" on youtube; there are some kids with absolutely CRAZY talent.
  7. Holy Crap! They cost more than the speakers....
  8. Welcome aboard, Jim!!
  9. Welcome, Paul!
  10. Welcome, Antonio!
  11. Welcome to the flip side of the coin, CL! By the way, guys...,her favorite word starts with a "b" & ends with "ies" there might be a couple of "o" in there...
  12. Can't you look at the other speaker?
  13. your easiest solution is to take a 10k audio taper pot (low wattage...1/2watt or 1/4watt) and put it inline.... about $3.00...
  14. Are we talking these: AKG-K-701-K701-Open-Back-DynaMic-Reference-Headphones ? that's them!
  15. I have a pair of AK K701 headphones....BEST cans I've ever owned. Paid $250 new on ebay. You can wear them for hours comfortanly.
  16. Lots of great cuts here! I use different music to test what I want to find out, but here are a few I use: Of course, the ubiquitous "1812 Overture" by Tchaikovsky--specifically the direct digital recording by Telarc with Erik Kunzel & the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. The cannons will test any system~ Vivaldi: "The Four Seasons" (Le Quattro Stagioni) Op 8 Nos 1-4 (The English Concert). I've very specific about this version also as it's done on period instruments. Ravel: "La Valse" (dynamic range/impact) Dianna Karl: "Temptation" Bela Fleck & the Flecktones: "Flight of the Cosmic Hippo" (anything that can play the bass from this CLEANLY has got it in spades) Supertramp: "Paris" (entire album--one of the best live recordings, EVER) Allison Krauss: "Oh, Atlanta" Steely Dan: "Everything Must Go" & "Teahouse on the Tracks" No Doubt: "Different People" Phish: "Guelah Papyrus" Primus: "Over the Electric Grapevine" Tierney Sutton: "Comes Love" The Yellowjackets: "Go Go", "Jacket Town", & "And You Know That" Yes: "Long Distance Runaround"
  17. Steve, are you sure the low note losses aren't just room-induced?
  18. I've used the 3M plastic repair kit on headlights & it works WONDERS. The results are directly related to the time & care you take with the project.
  19. Welcome, Ron! We're happy to have you here~

  21. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover. --Mark Twain
