I don't think they are much, if any, better than AL-IIIs. Especially considering their price. M/L speakers have a very open, airy, sound, but they are weak in "impact" IMO.
My $.02.
Most of the stuff was recorded on individual tracks, you can separate them out and place them anywhere you want. The 5.1 surround version of the Dark Side of the Moon is excellent.
K.D. Lang: Angel With A Lariat
Her debut album was solid gold material but one of the WORST recordings I've ever experienced. Some of the songs were redone in her "Reintarnation" reissue & are better.
I've always felt ALL Jimmy Hendrix's material fell squarely in this class.
Which model of Theater Grand do you have?
In 2 channel mode, you have to change the mains to "small" & choose a crossover frequency between 40 & 160 hz. I know this works with the TG 3 & above, but I'm unsure about the TG 1 & 2....
Speaking of your Whispers, Don; I went to Capital AudioFest with a friend yesterday & listened to the Legacy line. VERY nice! '
I have to say my favorites of the show were the TIDAL audio SunRay speakers. At $154,000 per pair, they'd damn well BETTER be good....and they were!
I'll post some pics/video later this week.
I'm certain that quote was "NOTHING can make me NOT drive fast~"
Speaking of which, I took the money from selling my car a couple of weeks ago & bought THIS; 55 mpg here I come!
