    DIY Spin Clean

Ok, you guys wanted to see it... My version of a DIY spin clean. Only real difference is I'm adding soft bristles on each side of the micro fiber pads. It will slide into a painted MDF box, this will keep the top from bulging out like it is now. It will put pressure on the pads as well. Yes, I could of bought one....but no fun in that.

    Cleaning Vinyl

Thanks Gene, since I've only heard one album cleaned on an ultrasonic cleaner, I didnt know what to expect. I'm a vinyl newb....I had records when I was younger but was more for backround, I didnt have the time or interest back then to care much. Funny how things have changed.

    Cleaning Vinyl

I recently heard what a ultrasonic machine can do.....wow! 4K is a little pricey though.... Thinking I may be able to DIY one for under $500.... Nice winter project.
  12. The Lemon song.......Zep I use to drive my parents crazy with that song......I still use it to do the same to my wife.
  13. Doug, have you thought of going the DIY route? Subs are the easiest to build and finish. There are so many great designs that can get you high end for low dollars.
  14. Welcome to the forum Dan, another member from Texas......cool!
  15. In 1974 (ish) a big bag of records was delivered to my dads company by the post office. They phoned a few times to tell them they had dropped them off to the wrong place. A few months later he brought the bag home cause no one came to claim it. I remember most were unremarkable, but the one I kept, and it was my first.....by first it was mine not shared with my siblings...was by "The Band"....Northern Lights, Southern Cross. Heres my list: Album: The Band....Northern Lights, Southern Cross 8 Track: ZZ Top...Fandango Cassette: Supertramp....Crime of the Century CD: Dire Straights......Bothers in arms Download: Katie Melua.....Piece by Piece It amazes me I could remember these.....I cant remember what I did last week usually.
  16. Nope....more like this...... I wonder how high those ole 15" drivers can go? These are SEOS ....I want......drool.... Affordable in kits HERE
  17. Man Gene, those are just beautiful..... I have some Scott speakers that have these big honkin 15" drivers.....like you. I need to do something with them. Maybe a wave guide....thats what I'm thinking......
  18. Wow, those really look great!! I have to wait till the girls go on a trip before I get the whole house for a proper speaker build.....
  19. Wow, that was a excellent read hash, thanks. The guy that designed my OB speakers is big on using "quality capacitors". A lot of people have said to him....Dude, the maker doesnt matter if the values and types are the same. He disputes its.....me I dont know enough, I'm an electronics sheeple....and took a Behringer speaker off the shelf, made an identical x-over, but with better parts, put a switch on them, and sent them on a road show. Told people to switch, or to have someone do it for you so your blind, and see the results. You can read about it HERE. When he sent the parts out for my x-over there were Sonicap, Erse capacitors and Mills resistors. But there was another Cap that was suppose to "make" it better.....a Jupiter Bees Wax....it was an upgrade meaning more $. Did I spend the extra money?....yep, cause others said it worked?, partially.....I just didnt want to wonder......so now I dont...lol. You can see the Bees wax cap....its large.....in this pic.

    Watchmen

That pithing seems like a lot of work... We just used a .22........life on the farm... I also enjoyed that movie, it was not what I was expecting.
  21. Maybe not the most, but it would be up there...
  22. Open baffle.......nice! I have a set I wont part with....once youve been smittin.... Theyre like blondes with long legs...redheads are ok, but.... Welcome!
  23. Ah yes, hoarding audio gear.....your prob the only one here that does that...... It weird isnt it.....a guy has more than plenty, but that doesn't stop him from loading up the pick-up when he finds a deal. Those are fine looking arrays 00, I heard a pair a few years ago in Vancouver, they were cranking and sounding good......cant remember what was driving them. They look a lot like my arrays with the double row of drivers flanking the tweets. Enjoy them!!
  24. So it looks like you send L & R signal to the same cabinet......before I looked I thought maybe mono. $445 for a single and its made in the US....I thought it would be more when I first saw the ad. Wonder if it works?
