  3. I've put together a few crossovers in speakers I've built from American designers....GR Research, and Selah Audio The GR stuff comes with Erse, Sonicap caps and Mills resisters. The Selah stuff came with Clarity caps and Mills resistors I've built 2 arrays and a center from Selah, and 2 OB set ups from GR. They were pushing a wax filled Jupiter cap for my second GR build...I bought it just so I didnt have to think about it again.....they were $200 extra. Do I think its worth it? no..... I've had a local guy buy the parts I need for the Trio PAP passive x-over. He talked me into Mundorf and Solen. Heres a list of components......I thought it was resonable. 8. Welcome from another western Canadian.......Edmonton area here. See you are from Surrey......I lived in Van area for 10 or so years, my wife is from Ladner and the inlaws are currently living in Langley. Nice to see a Tech in this neck of the woods.....
  9. For under $1000?.....THESE You can read a bit about them HERE
  10. In a weird place....inside a record sleeve, not a double just a single album. Never would of noticed, it was just chance. It was Steve Perry.....but its not a Journey album.... He was a backup singer for a Edmonton based band in the 70's before Journey, I'm thinking it was probably from that era.
  11. Welcome to the site. What are you using for a TT now?
  12. Gout pills are a form of Viagra.... And here I thought it was all the exercise I've been doing lately.....
  13. Welcome, nice speaker builds.....
  14. Nice speakers, big pedigree, I would love to give them a listen. 88db sensitivity....thats ALS territory. I would think Sunfire as well.
  15. I remember a lot of people walking around with cash in the late 70s and 80s. Interest rates were so high here then....who would take a loan for anything at 12%? I bought my first house from a guy for 1 dollar in 1983, the rates were 11% and he just couldnt afford the $700 a month.....I just assumed the mortgage. It seemed like a good deal at the time.....a few years earlier rates hovered around 20%

As long as your using the proper size amp, I think the room itself is probably a larger factor.......

  21. Living in a big country with a small population (at least in my part) just doesnt offer deals like this often. I envy the deals you guys get and the choices of equipment in your back yards. Those are great deal Dom, your son is going to love 'em. My wife was just saying the other day how we needed more big ass speakers around the house.....I'm trying to oblige her.
