    Vinyl Facts

I assumed they were still the same German company making them...?? But maybe not.... I've looked at them at the store....they are "shiny"!! They come with a cheap AT cartridge sooooooo.....I'll take a better look at them next time I'm at the store......doubt their worth the $3-500 price tag.

    Vinyl Facts

We have a drug store up here in Canuckistan, its called "London Drugs". Its a big chain country wide of large...think "Super sized"....stores. They carry a fair size collection of VINYL and speakers and AVS gear. They also carry new DUAL turntables, along with a few other cheap models. I think its indicative of the resurgence of vinyl albums when a store like this dedicates floor space.........very cool.

    A bit of reading.... http://www.bbc.com/culture/story/20131216-breaking-records-german-vinyl http://monoequipped.wordpress.com/vinyl-pressing-plants/
  4. Then when you realize a couple are missing.....
  5. I'm pretty sure my first album was given to me about 1970 by mt grandpa. It was a Tex Ritter....Cant remember the title, but I can remember the cover, and my favourite song was "Greedy old dog with a bone" I played the shit out of that record in my 10th year. The first album I bought was a K-tel hits something or other. It had the Raspberries "Go all the way"...I loved the guitar riff. I didnt really get serious with music until I was 13 and learned how to play guitar.
  6. Nice storage ......I have to build something similar for my albums
  7. You guys made me count.........223 I couldnt imagine 9000........but I could imagine 750......
  8. Ah yes.......I remember those posts, was a long time ago. Rich, you should have that stack as your avatar again.......that was very cool.
  9. It looks good in the pic. Try this, sand down your paint so its flat again. Buy satin black rattle can.....a few LIGHT coats with a little sanding in between. When your happy with the color apply clear gloss from a can...Many LIGHT coats, with a bit of sanding if needed. The problem with rattle cans is people get impatient and put too much on at a time. Heres some subs I did that way, just not high gloss, semi gloss.
  10. I remember her from the 80's with the new Bohemians. She had a big hit with "What I am", but really not much after. Of course when your husband is Paul Simon, a career is secondary....lol. Her voice has matured on this album with Steve, I like most of the tracks, and I really like the banjo playing....hes very good.
  11. I've had that CD for the last 3 months or so. I like most of it, Steve doesnt sing much...lol Nice find in Vinyl, bet it sounds very nice. I walked into a high end store that had it playing on a large set of Harbeth M40 They only had the one opened copy, but they had no problem selling it to me for $20.... Why I DIY so much....
  12. Went shopping today. 4 new MoFi and a few 180 new as well....100 outer sleeves too. Can you tell what decade I was born in?.....lol

  14. I wrote that response 4 times before posting......Canadians, we dont quite get it.......righteously correct.... I agree....you would do better on a open baffle with plexiglass.......

  19. Looks like Sony just contracted out to an ex Polk Engineer for the Es line.... http://www.stereophile.com/content/sony-es-ss-m9-loudspeaker So really its like a re badge and a Sony product in name only. Would be the same if they bought out the design of my speakers and slapped the Sony name on them......that doesnt make it a Sony product, only a Sony purchase, with the rights to brand it. It would've been a smart move on their part, it complimented their price point in electronics. I have no Sony products, I did, but they priced themselves out of my market. The products I had for the most part worked well and lived long.
