  3. A neighbor down the road has a analog to digital turntable that has usb out put on it to go to his computer. He would like to record some of my vinyl to his computer and record them as flac files or wma. What program would be needed to have the option to select the turntable (or the usb port its pluged into) as the source and record as a flac or wma file? Any suggestions?
  4. I'm kinda old school and don't comprehend well to technological advances without causing smoking in the cranium area. Can some one explain how one can take digital media lets say recorded from a DAC to a CD and played back through an analog system such as the c-1 and m1.0t? My understanding was that the old carver stuff is analog, and if you feed it a digital signal would it work? and if it had to be converted back to an analog signal would you lose the gain of having the digital format in the first place? Pardon my stupidity here....
  5. Yup, I tried that about a 2 months ago, although an improvement, it still had some pops and clicks, but considered it wasn't from dirt LOL
  6. has anyone ever tried tooth paste, it seems to me that it would be a good polisher for scratches.........
  7. Welcome Escher to the site. You opted for the perfect pre amp (c-1). Down the road I would suggest getting the BillD mod done to it when you can afford it, really makes a sweet improvement.

  13. Just try to remember, there's no R in Pono LOL Looks like now everything will have to be updated to play and record it (pc) and sound system source too.
  14. ...Come on Steve...you don't have a Zero Stat?... Finally! Something we can instigate Steve with. Steve this baby works real goooood. How to make your own zeropoint gun from a BBQ lighter Some say it works. I've never made or used one. http://fovegraphy.com/IonizerE.php
  15. all great information guys, you covered alot, but lets cover the best way to use a sub in it's hook up. If its a active or passive xover would play a part, but also makes a difference if it's self amplified or requires outside source amplication. I would assume that if it is self applied amplification, you would only need to hook to the preamp, but if you are using a stereo preamp and are using one sub how do you work around that, left channel right channel combined into one sub? and if a non powered sub, if you don't have an alternate amp laying around, whats the workaround for that? just excercising the cranium...
  16. Yup there was another thread here on vinyl care etc.
  17. Nice Rack (no pun intended) of equipment. We love pics
  18. Welcome aboard Shortcakes, lots of info here and friends and music. Tell us about yourself, what equipment do you have, what types of music you enjoy? Ohhh and I just had to ask whats your favorite word?
  19. I have a c-1 and drive two M 1.0T's MKII's Opt2. I use Main 1 out for 1 amp and Main 2 out for the other. When Bi amping I use one amp for left out to left bass, and right out for right mids and tweeters (using existing passive xovers in the speakers, but were split the bass from mid and uppers ), Then on the other amp I put right out to right bass and left out to left mid and uppers. They seem to pretty damned ballanced as far as load and as far as sound. Could be your hook up needs to be more ballanced if all the load on one am is doing the bass and the other amp the mid and highs one is working much harder than the other. Just MHO.
  20. Welcome aboard, and yes Greg is a #1 Class Act. He has done 3 m 1.0T's for me and they absolutly sing!!
