  1. Welcome to the site, @rick710, glad you found us.
  2. Welcome to the site, @audiobunny. Glad you found us! Enjoy the Site!
  3. welcome @Jamieson. Glad you found us. Those converted organs, are cool. Many were done under collaboration with these and other Carver amps. The leader was a company called Walker Technical, and they do conversions today, with their own private label amps.
  4. I find drag and drop to be the most expedient. Cut -n- paste is also easy. You may be in that waiting period - to reduce risk of spam, a newely acivatred member has to get so many likes on their text post, th4n image posts are enabled. I think you are there now.
  5. Welcome, @jeffrowland, glad you found us. Prey cool go see Jeff Rowland using a Carver amp! 😉 I bet you get that all the time! Welcome to Carver Land and this forum.
  6. Good video. I've seen that one. For sure, one thing Bezos did was put 100% of his time in on positive activities that accreted and ensured the success of world domination of the book retail business. He virtually pounded the pavement (virtually - online) driving visibility for the differentiation value his business model provided..., he clearly had a "written strategy document" that laid out his plans for "winning" and where he was going to win (what markets, when, along his growth path, while in the background hitting every milestone (development, marketing, product, etc.) on his roadmap. He waited on no one, held people accountable for even the most simple and small tasks to ensure the foundation for growth and success was achieved - early on. Love him or hate him, love Amazon or hate Amazon..., no one can deny this model for success. A great model to apply.
  7. @TCC, I see you posted the same question on FB, and someone else gave a pretty informed answer based on some documentation. After experimenting, we'd love it if you could post what you found worked best for your setup, room, other components, etc. One great thing about the TCS Forums is that solutions to the kinds of questions you asked, are persistent, and this will help the next guy. Facebook Groups, of course, lose threads, are not searchable, and a week from now, no one will see your post. Thanks in advance!
  8. Welcome to the site, @CURaven, glad you found us. Can't wait to hear more about your setup, and Carver journey.
  9. I spent 30 years raising two kids, and still invest in them as a parent, and guide. One area I really focused on through the years was in recognizing truth and reality from things that are false, and not real. A couple quotes I shared with them recently follow. My kids are pretty damn worldly and wise. Intelligent too, as a result of taking parenting, and the gift of child rearing, adolescent stewardship and education seriously as my primary responsibility to those two that I brought into this world.
  10. doesn't Cornell Dublier list on their mouser listing for those big cans "on demand" with a large order of 1000 minimum? That's 500 amps that each take two of these..., I think Cornell Dublier makes these in South Carolina, IIRC..., I am wrong a lot. I recall someone suggesting a group buy, to distribute the cost. ...just thinking out loud, not more than that as a strategy to address the change in the market.
  11. OK, I was thinking..., Zoro, and even Amazon, sell some B-grade Granite Surface Plates that may be more economical than engaging with the local counter-top maker..., ...and you can save gas, because these are "prime", and free delivery for something that weighs 80+ lbs. Below is the size that would fit under a Silver 7t Monoblock. For 2 x $86, for a block of granite that is 2 inches thick.
  12. Those counter-top shops around here are putting a premium price on cut-outs..., lots of creative uses are making them see profit opportunity, as opposed to getting rid of them so they don't build up as waste in the yard. I probably don't live in the best place for "good deals."
  13. @radtraveller, you should reach out to @Ar9Jim, if anyone has a line on a pair of these..., he would. BTW, there are many line-source style DIY projects on Youtube nd DIYAudio sites..., some look pretty interesting..., build your own! "Throwing stones at birds" might be hoping a Carver pair shows up. There was a pair on USAUdio mart a fw weeks bck.
  14. What is the elephant you are hunting? What are the birds you are throwing stones at...?
  15. Your question is quite unique to your gear. So, I don't think that a "right or wrong" answer is out there - just opinion after experimention of similar set-ups. After reading all the docs and suggestions, I still think as noted before, you need to try it one way, then the other way, and see which way works best for you. To be sure, your source, your DAC, you room/environment, your preferred listening genre..., all those factors will affect your "best" configuration setup too. Note that I think (please check the documentation you have on them) these processor components you have all take line level input and give line-level output via the RCA jacks. so there is (should be) no harm in experimenting with different setup configuration ordering. Simply thinking though this, If you have the EQ, squelching or amplifying some frequencies in-line BEFORE the 4bx expander, you are feeding it attenuated levels of some frequencies - which stands to reason that the 4BX will be limited in how much it can expand those frequencies. If you have it the other way around, expanding the raw inline signal first with the 4BX, you then have the EQ doing more to adjust the frequencies to fit your room... Best to experiment. Honestly, it seems like the two units will be fighting each other. Note that an EQ is not an "amplifier" so adjustments it makes are to attenuate the gain it is fed from the source. You mentioned earlier that people have given you different/conflicting suggestions - I think you are getting conflicting opinion because people have configured this different ways, via experimentation. Like a lot of things in this hobby, you have to try a few things out to test what is best for your setup, listening room, etc.
  16. Welcome to the site, @TCC. Glad you found us. @Ar9Jim is correct, follow the manual for putting the EQ and 4BX in series in the processor loop. If you want them switchable separately, you could use the tape loop for one - but that is more advanced.
  17. Welcome, @EasyRider. We have several members here that live in Italy. Glad you found us. Can't wait to hear more from you about your new gear!
  18. I'm not sure, but I think @Retriever lives somewhere near Hell, MI. 😉
  19. The Electrical/electronics experts know how this works... 😉
  20. Hmmm, I have a lead on a buyer for some of my speakers..., said he's working on getting them ..., then he sends me this cartoon. 😉
