  1. Lamenting the slow death of a young love! How the grime of the daily grind covers the little gems of innocence.
  2. I like this one, but I do not want to hear it everyday... This one makes me reach for ear plugs...
  3. Welcome to CS, @Bwest. If the person you mention is from CS, most likely it is @Daddyjt. Either way, you are (were?) in good hands. I have several C1s, including one listed in the FS listings on this site. The various faceplates are Silver C1... Anthracite C1/Black C11
  4. There is no past tense in such admissions of guilt. It is now in your DNA. Welcome to the never-ending party, @Buck115O'Texas! There are many folks of collar (aka Carver Techs) who can absolve you of your 'sins' so you can continue to commit them. ?
  5. There is also the CygWin method of getting Unix-like functionality on a Windows laptop/desktop device. When corporate world was Windows-only, this was used extensively to talk to the rest of U*ix variants, including X11R6 X-Windows system. Just being a Mac person, rsync/cron just came up first in my head. ?
  6. If you have a U*ix machine, you may want to look at rsync. The disks, if connected to the network, can easily be synced, using a nightly scheduled cron job.
  7. What amp was ‘replaced’ by the M500t. I assume it is a MkII.
  8. You have a pretty good collection of Bob Dylan CDs. ?
  9. My favorite directors are Akira Kurosawa, Alfred Hitchcock, Peter Weir, Francis Ford Coppola, Satyajit Ray, Bernardo Bertolucci, Ang Lee, Merchant and Ivory (and a few more...) . The Criterion Collection has some real gems.
  10. See Page 16 and 67-68 of the BDP-103 manual. You may not have enabled Down Mix Mode.
  11. On Burmester Vorführungs CD 3 , the last piece is Yim Hok-Man's Poem of Chinese Drums which should show case subs very well. Try it out with and without a sub.
  12. Looks like you switched to Sunfires from Carvers. ?
  13. Welcome to CS! @dr. underhill Perhaps a few details of your system(s) would be a nice appetizer. ?
  14. Someone will have to put down the deposit and the remainder and manage WS5.
  15. I do not know who will take over WS5 this year. I hope a CS member does.
  16. Originally - @kve777, @dennismiller55, @BarryG, @HappyTrails(a couple of days), @dcl and myself were planning to be there, with anyone else interested in a place to sleep. @zumbini is interested in going, but my timing is horrible.
  17. I cannot coordinate WS5 this year. Anyone who is willing to coordinate it, is more than welcome.

    Chernobyl

The China Syndrome, released 12 days before Three Mile Island accident shows the fragility of Nuclear Power and humans who work with it, but electrical energy is the cornerstone of economic development. Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster is another well-documented accident. World energy consumption shows Coal and Oil, together, supply 60+% of total energy, while Nuclear is about 4%. Chain reactions are very hard to control, and this is one of toughest to control, despite technological leaps in the last 40+ years. Safe Nuclear and Renewables would be very nice in the next 10+ years.
  19. Pink Cadillac 1960 Chevy...
  20. @DrewNH @dennismiller55 in Clifton, ME may be able to help you out. Send him a PM.
  21. Supertramp featuring David Gilmour. IIRC @Daddyjt chose this for Carver 2014 CD, and should be commended. Joe Walsh can do some magic, too...
  22. The Marching band in this one is very nice...
