Very nicely etched/spelt, as well. It also reminds me of a huge Railway yard/junction/terminus.

    New Jazz Albums

On my trips to Philadelphia, at an Abe Fisher 'hole-in-the-wall' called Dizengoff, I hear Alone in South Carolina often. It is also an indication that it is close to 1858ET, and a polite request to finish up the Hummus plate in front of me and trudge to my hotel-du-jour. You can hear the 2015 offering in it's entirety here Back To The City. Bit of his CV (copied, of course)... "Hoffman started playing guitar at the age of 6, and the oud a few years later. He studied guitar privately, and later attended the prestigious Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem. His search for new musical experiences led him first to Amsterdam, and then to New York City, where he played jazz with both established musicians and up-and-coming talents like Jason Lindler, bassist Avishai Cohen, and Claudia Acuna."
  3. Toshiba had a competing video format to BluRay, called HD-DVD. The SD9200 should play the HD-DVD discs, which have 5.1 Audio. I have a Pioneer DV593S, which could play SACDs and DVD-A discs, which was released around the same time period as the SD9200.

  5. @kingmanBelated H. B'day!
  6. You need 4x, just for the Dolby Atmos/DTS-X 9.1.6 setup. No need to cheat yourself. ?
  7. In pictures: World celebrates Christmas
  8. Merry Xmas to all Carverites! Do not forget the Milk and Cookies!
  9. Post a few pictures, please. I only saw the metal stands being waved like magic wands @CF2018.
  10. I have heard rumors of a 'half-stack' (42+in version) of ALSes. Have not see that unicorn yet, though.
  11. I want to get UD-SACD version. Surprised that the vinyl is 45-rpm and not 33.
  12. @DrummerJuice my vote is - get both!
  13. Indeed. Perhaps too many screws (8 each on Midrange/Tweeter). The WHD on these is 12x22x10.5 (11 with the front metal grill). I am still working on permissions from the powers be to put this in the BR, with appropriate stands. Got these courtesy of @kve777.
  14. I lied (but just a bit...). The ADS-L710 with grill pulled off.
  15. I listen at 9-10, and am listening to Snells and The Who - It's Hard. It is hard for me to stay in the room at anything past 11. If @The Raven likes Classical, Jazz and Opera, cranking it up may not be necessary. @The Raven I have a pair of ADS810s, 710s, 1290s. If the 810s/1290s are too big, consider the three-way 710s.
  16. 14 days in the US, but regional policies may vary.

  18. Bob is supposed to be making 42-in versions of the ALSs, which are fondly called 'half-stacks' or CF Speakers. Sunfire CRM2s may also work. Magnepans and KEFs have flat-panel designs, some of which can be wall-mounted, almost like a painting. Monitor Audio and Def Tech's are narrow designs. Auditioning is the best of choosing the speakers.
  19. It is small, but not small by any means. The 105 makes an excellent audio player. Future home of an Audio man-cave?
  20. Welcome to CS, @carverfan!
  21. I will send you my contact information.
